## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot: Full Page, Mobile & PDF

Capture screenshots of any number of websites in one run. Full page or only the visible area, as **desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile**, saved as **PNG, JPEG or PDF**. Cookie banners and chat bubbles are hidden automatically and lazy-loaded images are loaded before the capture, so you get clean, complete pages.

You **pay only for successful screenshots**. Pages that fail to load are never charged.

### Features

- **Bulk**: paste hundreds of URLs, they are captured in parallel.
- **Full page** with lazy-loaded images (the page is scrolled before capturing), or just the visible area.
- **Devices**: desktop 1920×1080, laptop 1366×768, tablet (iPad) and mobile (iPhone, retina), or your own width and height.
- **Formats**: PNG, JPEG (with quality) or PDF (A4).
- **Clean shots**: hides OneTrust, Cookiebot, Usercentrics, Didomi, Quantcast and other consent pop-ups, plus Intercom, HubSpot, Drift and Crisp chat widgets. Hide your own elements with CSS selectors.
- **Element screenshots**: capture only a header, a pricing table or a chart.
- **Wait options**: network idle, extra delay or wait for a specific element.
- **Dark mode** for sites that support it.

### Output

Each screenshot is stored in the run's key-value store and you get a direct link in the dataset:

```json
{
  "url": "https://apify.com/",
  "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "title": "Apify: Full-stack web scraping and data extraction platform",
  "screenshotUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/<storeId>/records/0001-apify.com.png",
  "format": "png",
  "device": "desktop",
  "viewport": { "width": 1920, "height": 1080 },
  "fullPage": true,
  "fileSizeBytes": 1224899,
  "loadTimeMs": 9800,
  "capturedAt": "2026-10-08T18:18:53.170Z"
}
```

A `SUMMARY` record lists every failed URL with the reason.

### Use cases

- **Competitor monitoring**: schedule daily screenshots of competitor pricing and landing pages.
- **Proof and archiving**: keep dated evidence of what a page showed (ads, terms, prices).
- **Website previews and thumbnails** for directories, link previews and reports.
- **Visual QA**: check pages on desktop and mobile after every release.
- **SEO and marketing reports**: attach screenshots of client sites.

### Tips

- Use **JPEG** for smaller files and **PNG** for crisp text.
- If something still covers the page, add its selector to **Hide elements**.
- For very long pages, **Max full-page height** cuts the image (default 15,000 px).
- Pages behind a login are not supported. Only capture pages you are allowed to access.

### How to use it via API

You can run the Actor from the Apify Console, on a schedule, or from your own code. Get your API token in Apify Console → Settings → Integrations.

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_API_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("digitalni.produkty.pro.zivot/website-screenshot").call(run_input={
    "urls": [
        "https://apify.com"
    ],
    "fullPage": True
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

**JavaScript / Node.js**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('digitalni.produkty.pro.zivot/website-screenshot').call({
    "urls": [
        "https://apify.com"
    ],
    "fullPage": true
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

### Integrations and AI agents

- Export results as **JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML**, or open them directly in **Google Sheets**.
- Connect to **Make, Zapier, n8n, Slack, Google Drive, Airbyte** or any **webhook** to get screenshots of web pages into your workflow automatically.
- Use it from **AI agents and LLM apps** (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, LangChain…) through the **Apify MCP server**: the agent can call this Actor as a tool.
- **Schedule** runs (hourly, daily, weekly) to keep data fresh without any code.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost?**
$0.005 per successful screenshot. 1,000 screenshots cost $5. Failed pages are not charged.

**Can I take mobile screenshots?**
Yes. Choose a desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile viewport, and full page or only the visible area.

**What about cookie banners?**
Common cookie and consent banners are hidden automatically, and lazy-loaded images are scrolled into view before capture.

**Can I get a PDF instead of an image?**
Yes. PNG, JPEG and PDF output are supported.
