## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU TED Tenders Monitor

Search and **monitor EU public procurement notices** from [TED](https://ted.europa.eu) via the **official Expert Search API** (`api.ted.europa.eu/v3`). Filter by buyer country, CPV, notice type and publication date. Turn on **only-new** mode to get alerts for notices you have not seen before.

Built for B2B lead gen, bid desks and research agents that need clean, machine-readable tender metadata — without scraping HTML or collecting personal contact details.

### What you get

One dataset item per notice:

- `publicationNumber`, `publicationDate`, `noticeType`, `procedureType`
- `buyerNames` (organisation), `buyerCountry`
- `titles`, `deadlineDates`, `cpv`, `placeOfPerformance`, `contractNature`
- `estimatedValue` + `estimatedValueCurrency` when present
- `noticeUrl` / `pdfUrlEn` links to the official TED page

### Input

| Field | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| `query` | (optional) | Raw TED expert-search string |
| `countries` | - | ISO codes (`NLD`, `BEL`…) |
| `cpvPrefixes` | - | 2–8 digit CPV (padded to 8) |
| `noticeTypes` | - | e.g. `cn-standard` |
| `publishedSince` | - | Days or `YYYYMMDD` |
| `maxNotices` | 50 | Cap on charged notices |
| `onlyNew` + `monitorName` | false / default | Skip already-seen publication numbers |

Helpers are AND-combined with `query` when both are set.

### Example input

```json
{
  "countries": [
    "NLD"
  ],
  "publishedSince": "20261001",
  "noticeTypes": [
    "cn-standard"
  ],
  "maxNotices": 3,
  "onlyNew": false
}
```

### Example output (one record)

Real record from a test run on the input above (dates and values change over time).

```json
{
  "publicationNumber": "674496-2026",
  "publicationDate": "2026-10-01",
  "noticeType": "cn-standard",
  "buyerNames": [
    "gemeente 's-Hertogenbosch"
  ],
  "buyerCountry": [
    "NLD"
  ],
  "titles": [
    "perceel 1 van 1"
  ],
  "deadlineDates": [
    "2026-10-26"
  ],
  "estimatedValue": null,
  "estimatedValueCurrency": null,
  "cpv": [
    "77211300"
  ],
  "placeOfPerformance": [
    "NL416",
    "NLD"
  ],
  "contractNature": [
    "services"
  ],
  "procedureType": "open",
  "noticeUrl": "https://ted.europa.eu/en/notice/-/detail/674496-2026",
  "pdfUrlEn": "https://ted.europa.eu/en/notice/674496-2026/pdf",
  "fetchedAt": "2026-10-18T05:39:36.080033+00:00",
  "matchedQuery": "buyer-country = \"NLD\" AND notice-type = \"cn-standard\" AND publication-date >= 20261001"
}
```

### Limits

- Data comes from the TED API as published. Fields the buyer left empty (for example `estimatedValue`) stay empty.
- TED covers EU-threshold notices. National-only tenders below the thresholds are usually not on TED.
- `onlyNew` remembers publication numbers per `monitorName`; renaming the monitor starts from scratch.
- It does not download tender documents or log in to e-procurement portals.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Tender notice returned | **$0.0009** |

No start fee. Failures and already-seen notices are free. Set a maximum cost per run and the actor stops before it is reached.

### Compliance

- Official TED API only (no HTML scrape when the API works)
- Honest User-Agent with publisher contact details, ≤1–2 requests/s, Retry-After honoured
- `api.ted.europa.eu/robots.txt` returns 404 → no robots restrictions (RFC 9309); site robots only block private/login paths
- **No personal data:** emails, phones and natural-person contact fields are never requested; free-text is redacted when `redactContactDetails` is true (default)

### Use it in n8n, Make or Zapier

Schedule a daily run with `onlyNew: true`, then webhook on new dataset items.

# Actor input Schema

## `query` (type: `string`):

Raw TED Expert Search query, e.g. buyer-country = "NLD" AND publication-date >= 20261001. Combined with the helper filters below using AND.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

ISO country codes (NLD, BEL, DEU…). OR-combined in the TED query.

## `cpvPrefixes` (type: `array`):

2–8 digit CPV codes. Shorter codes are padded with zeros to 8 digits (72 → 72000000) and matched exactly on classification-cpv.

## `noticeTypes` (type: `array`):

TED notice-type values, e.g. cn-standard, can-standard, qu-sy.

## `publishedSince` (type: `string`):

Either a number of days (e.g. 7) or a date YYYYMMDD / YYYY-MM-DD. Maps to publication-date >= …

## `maxNotices` (type: `integer`):

Newest matching notices to return (each costs $0.0009). Keep small for canaries.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Return only publication numbers not seen in earlier runs with the same monitor name. Ideal for a daily schedule + webhook.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Separate only-new monitors by using different names (letters, digits, '-' ; max 40).

## `redactContactDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Always recommended. Strips emails, phone numbers and contact-person patterns from free-text fields. Personal contact API fields are never requested.
