## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot API - Full Page PNG, JPEG, WebP & PDF

Capture **full-page or fixed-height screenshots (PNG, JPEG, WebP) and PDFs** of up to 1,000 URLs per run, on **desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile** viewports.
**$0.00197 per capture. Pages that fail to load (errors, 404s, timeouts, blocked sites) are free.**

### Quick start: example input, output and cost

Bulk full-page screenshots and PDFs of URLs: mobile presets, cookie banners hidden, lazy images loaded. Pay only for successful captures.

**Example input**

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_scraping",
    "https://www.iana.org/help/example-domains"
  ]
}
```

**Cost example:** 1,000 full-page screenshots x $0.00197 = **$1.97**.

### Why this one

- **You pay only for captures you get.** HTTP errors, timeouts, blocked or skipped pages are never charged, and the run never exceeds your maximum cost.
- **Exact height control.** `clipHeight: 1200` captures exactly the top 1,200 px; `fullPage` captures the whole page up to `maxHeight` (long pages are cut and flagged `truncated: true`).
- **Clean results.** Lazy-loaded images are loaded by a quick scroll, the page is scrolled back to the top, and sticky headers appear once instead of repeating. Common cookie/consent banners are hidden from the image with CSS (we never click "accept"). Add your own `hideSelectors` for chat widgets or ads.
- **Emoji and CJK text render correctly** (Noto Color Emoji and Noto CJK fonts are installed).
- PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF at one flat price, plus dark-mode preference.

### Input (main fields)

`urls` (required), `format` (png/jpeg/webp/pdf), `device` (desktop, desktop-hd, laptop, tablet, mobile), `fullPage`, `clipHeight`, `maxHeight`, `viewportWidth`, `hideCookieBanners`, `hideSelectors`, `scrollToLoad`, `waitUntil`, `delayMs`, `quality`, `darkMode`, `pageTimeoutSecs`.

### Output

Each capture is saved in the run's key-value store. The dataset item has `screenshotUrl` (direct link), `kvKey`, `url`, `finalUrl`, `httpStatus`, `title`, `format`, `device`, `viewport`, `pageHeight`, `capturedHeight`, `truncated`, `bytes`, `loadSec`. Failed URLs and the reason are in the **ERRORS** record; totals in **SUMMARY**.

### Limits

- Pages behind a login, cookie wall or bot protection are captured as the public visitor sees them, or fail (free).
- Social networks and profile sites are refused.
- Very long pages are cut at `maxHeight`.

### Responsible use

- We respect each site's **robots.txt** and skip pages it disallows (free).
- No logins: there is no cookie or credential input, and we do not bypass anti-bot protection. If a site blocks automated access, the page is reported and not charged.
- Social networks and other sites made mostly of personal profiles (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Threads, Snapchat, VK, OnlyFans) are not captured.
- Only capture pages you are allowed to use; you are responsible for how you use the images.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Screenshot or PDF captured and saved | $0.00197 |

1,000 captures = $2. No start fee.
