## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Copyright Removal Notices (DMCA) by Domain

Look up the copyright removal notices Google has received for any domain, agency or rights holder: who sent them, for whom, when, and what Google did with every reported URL.

Data from [DMCALens](https://dmcalens.com), which covers every notice in Google's published record (more than 56 million notices naming over 8 million domains).

### What you get

For each **domain**:

- notices in the last 12 months and over its whole history, with first and last notice dates
- URL outcomes: removed from Google Search, left in search (no action), not in Google's index, pending
- the agencies and rights holders behind its notices
- notice counts by month
- the domains named in the same notices, and the same name on other suffixes
- optionally, every notice that named it in the last 12 months (one row each)

For each **agency** (the organisation sending notices) and **rights holder** (the owner notices are sent for): totals, monthly counts, the domains reported, and who they worked with.

### Input

```json
{
  "domains": ["thepiratebay.org", "https://www.1337x.to/top-100"],
  "agencies": ["markscan"],
  "rightsHolders": [],
  "includeNotices": true,
  "maxNoticesPerDomain": 100
}
```

Domains can be given in any form. Agencies and rights holders are given by the slug in their DMCALens page address, for example `markscan` in `dmcalens.com/agency/markscan`.

Up to 1,000 domains and 100 agencies or rights holders per run.

### Output

One dataset item per domain, agency or rights holder, with the headline figures as columns and the full record in `record`. With `includeNotices`, one more item per notice (the "Notices" view lists them). Names that are not in Google's record come back with `"found": false` and are not charged.

```json
{
  "type": "domain",
  "key": "thepiratebay.org",
  "found": true,
  "url": "https://dmcalens.com/domain/thepiratebay.org",
  "notices_12_months": 12407,
  "last_notice": "2026-10-13T01:49:06Z",
  "record": { "...": "the full record" }
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged per record found and per notice returned. Not-found lookups are free. A run stops at the spending limit you set.

Each account can make 2,000 lookups a day (one per domain, agency or rights holder, plus one per 100 notices); the count resets at 00:00 UTC. If you need more, or want to call the data from your own systems directly, the DMCALens Business plan includes the API: https://dmcalens.com/developers

### Notes

- Figures marked 12 months count back from the newest notice in the data, not from today.
- These are Google's outcomes as Google reports them. They describe what happened to a request, not whether a notice or a site is lawful.
- Results are for your own use; see https://dmcalens.com/terms.
- DMCALens is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Google or Lumen.

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Domains to look up, e.g. example.com. Any form works: www., uppercase, a full URL.

Agencies that send notices, by the slug in their DMCALens page address (dmcalens.com/agency/<slug>).

## `rightsHolders` (type: `array`):

Rights holders notices were sent for, by the slug in their DMCALens page address (dmcalens.com/rights-holder/<slug>).

## `includeNotices` (type: `boolean`):

Also return the notices that named each domain in the last 12 months, one item per notice.

## `maxNoticesPerDomain` (type: `integer`):

Newest first. Used when notices are included.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "thepiratebay.org",
    "1337x.to"
  ],
  "includeNotices": false,
  "maxNoticesPerDomain": 100
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `records` (type: `string`):

One item per domain, agency or rights holder, found or not.

## `notices` (type: `string`):

One item per notice, when notices were included.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "domains": [
        "thepiratebay.org",
        "1337x.to"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("dmcalens/dmcalens-copyright-removals").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
