## Pricing

Pay per event

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Tech Stack Detector

Find out what any website is built with: CMS, e-commerce platform, JavaScript framework, analytics, ad pixels, tag managers, hosting, CDN, payments, live chat, cookie consent and more. Give it a list of domains; get one row per site with every technology found, the version where the site exposes it, and the evidence for each match.

**$2 per 1,000 websites. Sites that are down, blocked or return errors are not charged.**

### Good for

- **Sales prospecting**: find shops on Shopify or WooCommerce, sites using a competitor's tool, or sites without analytics
- **Agencies**: check a prospect's stack before a pitch
- **Market research**: measure how common a platform is across a list of sites
- **Due diligence**: see what a company runs on its public site

### What it detects

More than 130 technologies across CMS (WordPress, Drupal, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, HubSpot CMS and more), e-commerce (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, PrestaShop, Salesforce Commerce Cloud), frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt, React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Astro, Gatsby), analytics and pixels (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, TikTok, LinkedIn, Hotjar, Clarity, Plausible, Segment, Mixpanel), hosting and CDN (Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, CloudFront, Fastly, Akamai), servers, payments (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna), chat and support (Intercom, Zendesk, Drift, Tawk.to), email marketing (Klaviyo, Mailchimp), cookie consent, CAPTCHAs and more.

### Output (one row per website)

```json
{
  "inputUrl": "https://wordpress.org/",
  "status": "ok",
  "cms": "WordPress",
  "ecommerce": null,
  "framework": null,
  "hosting": null,
  "cdn": null,
  "technologyCount": 5,
  "technologyNames": ["WordPress", "Google Fonts", "HSTS", "Google Tag Manager", "Nginx"],
  "technologies": [
    {"name": "WordPress", "category": "CMS", "version": "7.2", "evidence": ["meta generator", "asset URL"], "confidence": "high"}
  ]
}
```

`confidence` is `high` when the evidence is a response header, a generator tag or more than one signal, `medium` for a single markup or asset match or an implied technology (for example Next.js implies React).

### How it works, and its limits

- It reads the home page (or the URL you give) and its response headers once. No browser, no logins.
- Tools that load only after scripts run, or only on inner pages (checkout, account), may be missed. Give it the specific page if you need those.
- Matching is deliberately conservative: a missed tool is better than a wrong one.
- It respects robots.txt by default and skips sites that refuse automated access (not charged).

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Domains or URLs, one per line (up to 5,000 per run). Example: shopify.com

## `respectRobotsTxt` (type: `boolean`):

Skip pages the site asks bots not to fetch. Recommended.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://www.shopify.com",
    "wordpress.org"
  ],
  "respectRobotsTxt": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `overview` (type: `string`):

No description

## `results` (type: `string`):

No description

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "urls": [
        "https://www.shopify.com",
        "wordpress.org"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("dodge_bot/website-tech-stack").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
## MCP server setup
The hosted server signs you in with OAuth on first connect, so no API token belongs in this config. Clients without OAuth support can send an `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_API_TOKEN>` header instead, using a token from API & Integrations in Apify Console (https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations).
