## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper

Get **user reviews from both the Apple App Store and Google Play in one run**, in the same columns, ready for Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools or an LLM.

### Why this one

- **Both stores, one format**: compare your app with competitors across iOS and Android without merging two exports.
- **Developer replies** included for Google Play.
- **Multi-country** for the App Store, and any review language for Google Play.
- No login, cookies or proxies needed. Fast: hundreds of reviews in a couple of seconds.

### Input

Paste App Store URLs or ids and Google Play URLs or package names:

```json
{"apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580", "com.spotify.music"],
 "maxReviewsPerApp": 200, "countries": ["us", "gb"], "sort": "newest"}
```

### Output

One row per review:

```json
{"store": "google", "app_id": "com.spotify.music", "country": "us", "review_id": "2372...", "user_name": "Xali",
 "rating": 5, "title": null, "text": "This app is great, but ...", "date": "2026-10-19T12:58:36+00:00",
 "app_version": "9.0.84", "thumbs_up": 12, "developer_reply": "Thanks for the feedback ...",
 "developer_reply_date": "2026-10-20T08:10:00+00:00"}
```

App Store reviews have a `title`; Google Play reviews have developer replies.

### Use it for

- Finding bugs and feature requests after a release (filter by `app_version`)
- Competitor research and app store optimisation
- Sentiment analysis and dashboards

### Pricing

Pay per review returned. An app that can't be found returns nothing and costs nothing.

### Limits

- The App Store public feed returns at most 500 recent reviews per country; add countries to get more.
- Google Play returns up to 10,000 reviews per app. Its reviews depend on the language, not the country, so a Google Play app is fetched once, for the first country.
- Only public reviews; reviewer profiles beyond the display name are not collected.

### Also available as an API

The same data is available per call over HTTP (x402, paid in USDC) and as an MCP tool for AI assistants at https://bess-x402.onrender.com.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs or numeric ids (e.g. 324684580), and Google Play URLs or package names (e.g. com.spotify.music). Mix both stores freely.

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Google Play goes up to 10,000. The App Store feed stops at 500 per country, so add more countries for more.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter store countries such as us, gb, de, in. Each app is fetched once per country.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Review language for Google Play, e.g. en, de, es.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order the store returns reviews in.
