## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## App Store & Google Play Scraper — App Details, Search, Developer Emails

Get **app details from both the Apple App Store and Google Play** in the same columns, by app ID or by **keyword search**.

### What you get per app

Title, short summary, description, developer, **developer email** and website (Google Play), genre, rating, number of ratings and reviews, rating histogram, installs (Google Play shows both the band and the exact count), price and currency, in-app purchase range, ads, content rating, release and last update date, version (App Store), icon and privacy policy links.

### Use it for

- **ASO and keyword research**: see which apps rank for a keyword, in rank order (`search_rank`).
- **Competitor tracking**: schedule a run and compare ratings, installs and update dates over time.
- **App developer lead lists**: Google Play publishes each developer's contact email and website.

### Input

```json
{"apps": ["com.spotify.music", "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/instagram/id389801252"],
 "searchTerms": ["budget tracker"], "searchStores": ["google", "apple"], "maxResultsPerSearch": 20, "country": "us"}
```

### Output

```json
{"store": "google", "app_id": "com.spotify.music", "title": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts", "developer": "Spotify AB",
 "developer_email": "support@spotify.com", "developer_website": "https://www.spotify.com", "genre": "Music & Audio",
 "rating": 4.349, "ratings_count": 36511253, "installs": "1,000,000,000+", "real_installs": 3167504775,
 "price": 0.0, "currency": "USD", "updated": "2026-10-14T05:44:28+00:00", "search_term": "music", "search_rank": 1}
```

Fields a store doesn't publish are `null` (for example, installs on the App Store).

### Pricing

Pay per app returned. Apps that can't be found return nothing and cost nothing.

### Need reviews too?

Use [App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper](https://apify.com/domnicshadowuae/app-store-google-play-reviews) for the reviews of the same apps.

### Also available as an API

The same data is available per call over HTTP (x402, paid in USDC) and as an MCP tool for AI assistants at https://bess-x402.onrender.com.
