## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## US Stock Financials & SEC Filings (EDGAR) by Ticker

Pull **reported financials** for US-listed companies straight from official SEC 10-K and 10-Q filings, or list their **latest EDGAR filings** with links. Give it a list of tickers; get clean rows ready for Excel, Google Sheets or your code.

### Financial statements

For each fiscal year or quarter: revenue, gross profit, operating income, net income, diluted EPS, operating cash flow, capex, **free cash flow**, total assets, liabilities, equity, cash, long-term debt, and gross, operating and net margin plus return on equity. Each row carries the filing it came from (form, filing date, accession number). Restated values replace earlier ones.

### Filings list

Latest filings newest first: form, filing date, report date, 8-K item numbers, description and a direct document link. Filter with form types, e.g. `4` for insider trades, `8-K` for events, `13F-HR`, `S-1`.

### Example input

```json
{"tickers": ["AAPL", "MSFT", "NVDA"], "dataType": "financials", "period": "annual", "limit": 5}
```

```json
{"tickers": ["TSLA"], "dataType": "filings", "forms": "4", "limit": 20}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: one charge per row (one company period, or one filing). Unknown tickers return nothing and cost nothing.

### Limits

- US GAAP filers only; foreign companies reporting in IFRS (20-F) are not covered.
- Quarterly cash flow items are null where the 10-Q reports them year-to-date.
- Numbers are as filed, not analyst estimates or adjusted figures. Not investment advice.

### Also available as an API

The same data is available per call over HTTP (x402, paid in USDC) and as an MCP tool for AI assistants at https://bess-x402.onrender.com.

Data: SEC EDGAR (U.S. public domain).
