## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Booking.com Scraper: Hotel Prices, Availability, Reviews

Get hotels from Booking.com for your dates, guests and currency. Search a city or area, or give a list of hotel pages. Each hotel row has the price for your stay, the room Booking.com offers, free cancellation, breakfast, stars, review score, address and map point. Guest reviews and photo galleries are optional.

It works for any city. It is tested on Dubai, Riyadh, Makkah, Jeddah, London and Paris, in English and Arabic, in USD, SAR and GBP.

### Who uses it

- **Hotel revenue managers**: track your hotel and your competitors every day. See when a rival drops its price or sells out.
- **Travel agencies and tour operators**: compare prices for group dates, Umrah stays or event weeks.
- **Analysts**: study prices by city, star class, season or event dates.
- **Review and reputation teams**: collect guest reviews with scores, liked and disliked text, traveller type and country.

### What you get per hotel

- Booking.com hotel id, name, link (with your dates and guests filled in), property type
- Stars (or Booking.com's tile rating for apartments), review score, score label, number of reviews
- Address, city, area, country, coordinates, distance from the centre
- Availability for your dates
- Price: stay total, price per night, taxes and fees Booking.com adds on top, total with taxes, price before discount, price in the hotel's own currency
- Room name and number of rooms, free cancellation and its deadline, no prepayment, breakfast included, "only N left" note, deal labels
- Main photo, and a photo gallery when you turn it on

Each destination and each hotel URL also gives one free status row. It says how many hotels Booking.com has, how many were delivered and whether anything failed.

### Input examples

#### A city for fixed dates

```json
{
    "destinations": ["Dubai"],
    "checkIn": "2026-11-05",
    "checkOut": "2026-11-07",
    "adults": 2,
    "currency": "AED",
    "maxHotels": 100
}
```

#### Saudi cities in riyal, in Arabic, with filters

```json
{
    "destinations": ["Riyadh", "Jeddah", "Makkah"],
    "checkInDaysFromNow": 14,
    "nights": 3,
    "adults": 3,
    "childrenAges": [6],
    "rooms": 2,
    "currency": "SAR",
    "language": "ar",
    "minStars": 4,
    "minReviewScore": 8,
    "freeCancellationOnly": true,
    "sortBy": "price",
    "maxHotels": 50
}
```

#### A fixed list of hotels with their latest reviews

Open the hotel on Booking.com and copy the address bar. Paste one link per line. A numeric Booking.com hotel id also works.

```json
{
    "hotelUrls": [
        "https://www.booking.com/hotel/sa/hyatt-regency-makkah.html",
        "https://www.booking.com/hotel/sa/the-ritz-carlton-riyadh.html"
    ],
    "checkInDaysFromNow": 7,
    "nights": 1,
    "currency": "USD",
    "includeReviews": true,
    "maxReviewsPerHotel": 50,
    "reviewSort": "newest"
}
```

#### Filters and sort

- **Minimum stars**, **minimum review score**, **price per night range**, **free cancellation only**, **breakfast included only**, **hotels only**. They are sent to Booking.com, then checked again on each row.
- **Sort by**: top picks, price (low or high first), best reviewed, stars and price, review score and price, distance. The order is Booking.com's own.
- Filters apply to destination searches. Hotel URLs are always returned, because you asked for those hotels by name.

### Output example

This row comes from a real run on 2026-10-28: Makkah, 2 nights, 2 adults, USD.

  "hotelCurrency": "SAR",
  "language": "en-us",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-28T09:08:17.425Z"
}
```
Field notes:
- `price.total` is the stay price Booking.com shows as the headline. In Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Booking.com adds taxes and fees on top: they are in `taxesAndFees`, and `totalWithTaxes` is the sum. In the UK the headline already includes them, so `taxesIncluded` is `true`.
- `perNight` is the total divided by the number of nights.
- `hotelCurrency` is the price in the currency the hotel charges in, when it differs from yours.
- `starsType` is `stars` for an official hotel class and `booking_rating_tiles` for Booking.com's own rating of apartments and homes.
- `roomName` is the room Booking.com picks for your guests. With 2 or more rooms it can list two names joined by `+`.
A review row from the same run:
```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "hotelId": 1396427,
  "hotelName": "Jabal Omar Hyatt Regency Makkah",
  "reviewId": "8f59f5b0f90d4356",
  "score": 10,
  "title": "اقامة رائغة",
  "positive": "كان في شيء في الغرفة من ناحية النظافة ، لكن المدير المناوب تدارك الامر لكن للامانه اشكرهم جميعا على حسن الاستقبال وكرم الضيافة كل الموظفين الذين تعاملت معاهم كانو بشوشين وملبين لجميع الطلبات وهذا الفندق لايمكن ان اغيره وانا باذن الله بكون ضيف دائم عندهم",
  "negative": "لايوجد شيء يذكر",
  "language": "ar",
  "reviewDate": "2026-10-28",
  "travellerType": "Solo traveler",
  "customerType": "SOLO_TRAVELLERS",
  "reviewerName": "Saoud",
  "reviewerCountry": "Qatar",
  "reviewerCountryCode": "qa",
  "roomName": "King Room",
  "stayCheckIn": "2026-09-04",
  "stayCheckOut": "2026-09-05",
  "nights": 1,
  "hotelReply": null,
  "helpfulVotes": 0
}
```
About half of Booking.com reviews have a score only. Their `title`, `positive` and `negative` are `null`. The reviewer is shown by the first name displayed on Booking.com and a country. No photos or profile links of guests are collected.
The status row for the same search:
```json
{
  "type": "search_status",
  "query": "Makkah",
  "status": "ok",
  "resolvedDestination": "Mecca (sa)",
  "destinationType": "CITY",
  "totalOnBooking": 304,
  "hotelsFound": 150,
  "hotelsDelivered": 150,
  "hotelsUnchangedSkipped": 0,
  "hotelsUnavailable": 0,
  "hotelsFilteredOut": 0,
  "reviewsDelivered": 299,
  "reviewLookupsFailed": 0,
  "pages": 8,
  "error": null,
  "seconds": 91.1,
  "charged": false
}
```
`status` is `ok`, `partial` (some pages or review lookups failed), `no_results` or `failed`. For hotel URLs it can also be `no_availability_for_these_dates` or `not_found`. One failed search never stops the others, and the run always finishes so a schedule keeps working.
### Daily price tracking
1. Fill in your destinations or hotel URLs.
2. Leave **Check-in date** empty. Set **Check-in in N days**, for example 7, and **Nights**.
3. Turn on **Price watch: only output changes** and give a **Watch list name**, for example `makkah-competitors`.
4. Save the input as a task. Add a schedule in Apify, for example every day at 06:00 Riyadh time.
The first run outputs every hotel with `priceWatch.status` = `new`. Later runs output only hotels whose price, availability, free cancellation or breakfast changed, plus hotels seen for the first time:
```json
"priceWatch": {
  "status": "changed",
  "previousCheckAt": "<time of the previous run>",
  "changes": [
    { "field": "total", "from": 500, "to": 450, "diff": -50, "pct": -10 }
  ]
}
```
With reviews on, price watch outputs only reviews it has not seen before for that hotel. Unchanged hotels and known reviews are skipped and not charged. The saved state lives in the key-value store `booking-hotels-price-watch`. Stays whose check-in date has passed are removed from it.
Booking.com reorders search results between runs. For a stable list, track hotels by URL.
### Pricing
Pay per result. Platform usage is included in the price.
- **$2.00 per 1,000 hotels** (event `hotel`). A hotel is charged only when it has a price for your dates.
- **$0.50 per 1,000 reviews** (event `review`), only when you turn on reviews.
- Free: status rows, sold-out hotels, hotels removed by your filters, unchanged hotels and known reviews in price-watch mode, failed searches.
Example: Dubai, Riyadh and Makkah with 100 hotels each and 10 reviews per hotel costs $0.60 + $1.50 = $2.10.
You can set a maximum cost per run in Apify. The actor stops when the next row would go over it.
### Speed and limits
- Hotels without extras: about 25 hotels per second. A run of 2 cities with 40 hotels each took 3 seconds.
- With reviews or photos, add about 0.5 seconds per hotel. 750 hotels in 5 cities with 2 reviews each took 6.5 minutes.
- Booking.com shows up to 1,000 properties per search. Use filters or areas (for example "Downtown Dubai") to reach more.
- Stays of 1 to 30 nights, up to 30 adults and 30 rooms, 10 children.
- Prices can depend on the country the request comes from. To see the price a guest in Saudi Arabia sees, pick an Apify residential proxy in Saudi Arabia.
- The price is for the room Booking.com recommends for your guests. A full table of every room and rate is out of scope for now.
- If Booking.com lists no rooms for a hotel URL on your dates, the status row says `no_availability_for_these_dates`. Turn on **Include sold-out hotels** to also get the hotel row, free.
### Reliability
- Requests start at least 500 ms apart. Photo and review lookups run 3 at a time by default.
- When Booking.com answers with errors, a browser check or an incomplete page, the actor waits longer, starts a new session, and then moves up the proxy ladder: no proxy, Apify datacenter, Apify residential.
- The run summary (key-value store record `RUN_SUMMARY`) shows requests, HTTP status codes, retries, the proxy tier used and kilobytes per hotel.
### Data and privacy
The actor reads public Booking.com search data as a logged-out visitor. It does not log in, and it does not solve captchas. Reviews carry the display name and country shown publicly on Booking.com. Check the rules that apply to your use of the data, such as Booking.com's terms and data protection law in your country (for example GDPR or Saudi PDPL).
# Actor input Schema
## `destinations` (type: `array`):
Places to search, the same as typing into the Booking.com search box. Examples: Dubai, Riyadh, Makkah, Jeddah, Doha, Downtown Dubai, London, Paris. Each entry becomes its own search with its own free status row.
## `hotelUrls` (type: `array`):
Booking.com hotel pages, for example https://www.booking.com/hotel/ae/burj-al-arab.html . A numeric Booking.com hotel id also works. Use this to track a fixed list of hotels. Search filters do not apply to these.
## `checkIn` (type: `string`):
Format YYYY-MM-DD. Leave empty to use 'Check-in in N days' below, which is best for daily schedules.
## `checkOut` (type: `string`):
Format YYYY-MM-DD. Leave empty to use the number of nights below.
## `checkInDaysFromNow` (type: `integer`):
Used when Check-in date is empty. 14 means two weeks from the day the run starts, so a daily schedule always looks the same distance ahead.
## `nights` (type: `integer`):
Length of stay, used when Check-out date is empty.
## `adults` (type: `integer`):
Adults in total, across all rooms.
## `childrenAges` (type: `array`):
One age per child, 0 to 17. Example: \[5, 9] for two children. Prices and room choice change with children.
## `rooms` (type: `integer`):
Number of rooms. Each room needs at least one adult.
## `currency` (type: `string`):
3-letter code. Examples: USD, SAR, AED, QAR, KWD, BHD, OMR, JOD, EGP, EUR, GBP.
## `language` (type: `string`):
Booking.com site language for hotel names, room names and labels. Examples: en-us, en-gb, ar, fr, de. Reviews keep the language each guest wrote in.
## `maxHotels` (type: `integer`):
Booking.com shows up to 1,000 properties per search. Each hotel row is one charge.
## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
Order of results, the same as the Booking.com sort menu.
## `minStars` (type: `integer`):
0 = any. 4 keeps 4- and 5-star properties.
## `minReviewScore` (type: `number`):
0 = any. Booking.com scores run from 1 to 10. Example: 8 for 'Very good: 8+'.
## `minPricePerNight` (type: `number`):
0 = no minimum. In the currency above, before taxes and fees that Booking.com shows separately.
## `maxPricePerNight` (type: `number`):
0 = no maximum. In the currency above, before taxes and fees that Booking.com shows separately.
## `freeCancellationOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only offers you can cancel for free.
## `breakfastIncludedOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only offers with breakfast in the price.
## `hotelsOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Leave out apartments, holiday homes, hostels and other property types.
## `includeUnavailable` (type: `boolean`):
Hotels with no rooms for your dates are skipped by default. On: they are output free of charge with available set to false.
## `includePhotos` (type: `boolean`):
Adds a list of photo links per hotel. Costs one extra request per hotel, so runs take longer. The main photo is always included.
## `maxPhotos` (type: `integer`):
Used when the photo gallery is on.
## `includeReviews` (type: `boolean`):
Adds review rows for each hotel: score, title, liked and disliked text, date, traveller type, room, guest country and first name as shown on Booking.com. Each review row is one charge.
## `maxReviewsPerHotel` (type: `integer`):
Used when guest reviews are on.
## `reviewSort` (type: `string`):
Which reviews come first.
## `onlyChanged` (type: `boolean`):
Compares each hotel and stay with the previous run of the same watch list. Only new hotels, changed prices or availability, and reviews not seen before are output and charged. Each hotel row carries priceWatch with the old and new values.
## `watchListName` (type: `string`):
Name for the saved state, for example riyadh-weekend. Runs with the same name compare against each other. Empty: a name is made from your destinations, hotels, guests, currency and filters. Setting a name also adds priceWatch to every hotel row.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Leave empty for the automatic ladder: no proxy first, then Apify datacenter, then Apify residential only if Booking.com keeps refusing. Pick a residential country to see the prices shown in that country.
## `autoProxyFallback` (type: `boolean`):
Move to the next proxy tier when Booking.com keeps refusing.
## `allowResidentialFallback` (type: `boolean`):
Residential proxy is the most reliable tier.
## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):
Photo and review lookups in flight at once. Requests still start at least the delay below apart.
## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):
Minimum gap between request starts.
## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):
Attempts per request before a search or hotel is marked failed. Each retry waits longer and may switch session or proxy tier.
