## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bayut & Property Finder Scraper: Gulf Property Listings

Get property listings from Property Finder and Bayut in one clean table. Every row has the same fields, whichever site it came from. Each run also tells you which listings are new since the last run and which prices changed.

No account, no login, no cookies. Public listing data only.

### Who it is for

- Real estate agencies and brokers who watch prices in their areas.
- Investors who want new listings and price drops each morning.
- Analysts who compare rents and sale prices across Gulf cities.
- Proptech teams who need a steady feed in one schema.

### Countries and sites

| Country | Property Finder | Bayut |
|---|---|---|
| UAE (`ae`) | Yes | Not now (see Limits) |
| Saudi Arabia (`sa`) | Yes | Not now (see Limits) |
| Qatar (`qa`) | Yes | Yes |
| Bahrain (`bh`) | Yes | - |
| Egypt (`eg`) | Yes | - |
| Oman (`om`) | - | Yes |
| Jordan (`jo`) | - | Yes |

### Two ways to search

**1. Paste search URLs.** Set your filters on the site, copy the address of the results page, and paste it. Property Finder and Bayut URLs can go in the same run.

```json
{
    "startUrls": [
        "https://www.propertyfinder.ae/en/rent/dubai/penthouses-for-rent.html",
        "https://www.propertyfinder.eg/en/buy/cairo/apartments-for-sale.html",
        "https://www.bayut.om/en/for-sale/villas/muscat/?beds_in=4,5"
    ],
    "maxItems": 200
}
```

**2. Simple filters.** Pick the sites, country, city or area, rent or buy, type, bedrooms, price range and furnishing.

```json
{
    "sites": ["propertyfinder", "bayut"],
    "country": "qa",
    "city": "Doha",
    "purpose": "rent",
    "propertyType": "villa",
    "minBeds": 3,
    "maxPrice": 20000,
    "maxItems": 500
}
```

The city can be a city, a community or a building, as the site spells it: Dubai, Dubai Marina, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, The Pearl, Manama, Cairo, Muscat, Amman. Newest listings come first.

}
```
```json
{
    "type": "listing",

    "country": "qa",
    "id": "120330458",
    "url": "https://www.bayut.qa/en/property/details-120330458.html",
    "title": "1 Commercial Property For Rent The Heart Of Doha",
    "purpose": "rent",
    "propertyType": "Other Commercial",
    "category": "commercial",
    "price": 15000,
    "currency": "QAR",

    "listedAt": "2026-10-04T13:35:00.000Z",
    "updatedAt": "2026-10-27T17:45:40.000Z",
    "isNew": true,
    "priceChanged": false
}
```
Each search also adds one free status row:
```json
{
    "type": "status",
    "site": "propertyfinder",
    "country": "qa",
    "input": "propertyfinder qa Doha rent",
    "status": "ok",
    "listings": 500,
    "totalAvailable": 25807,
    "searchUrl": "https://www.propertyfinder.qa/en/search?c=2&l=9&ob=nd",
    "charged": false
}
```
Status values: `ok`, `no_results`, `invalid_input` (bad URL, unknown city or type), `unsupported` (the site does not cover that country), `blocked`, `skipped` (spending limit reached). The run itself still ends as succeeded, so a schedule never breaks on one bad input.
### New listings and price drops
Tracking is always on. The actor remembers every listing it returns under a watch list, in the named key-value store `gulf-property-listings-state` in your account.
- **Only new listings**: returns only listings that earlier runs did not see.
- **Only price changes**: returns only listings whose price moved.
- Turn both on to get both.
- The first run of a watch list returns everything and saves it as the baseline.
- Give each watch list a name, for example `dubai-marina-2br`, and keep it the same on every run. Without a name, the actor makes one from your searches.
- Listings that are not returned in alert mode are not charged.
`maxItems` counts the listings the actor reads. With newest first, a daily run with `maxItems` of 200 to 500 catches the new listings in most areas.
### How to schedule
1. Save your input as a task.
2. In the task, open Schedules and pick daily or hourly.
3. Turn on Only new listings and Only price changes, and set a watch list name.
4. Send results to email, Slack, Google Sheets or a webhook with Apify integrations.
### Pricing
You pay per listing row. Platform usage is included in the price. Status rows are free, so a blocked site or a bad URL costs nothing. You can set a spending limit on any run and the actor stops cleanly when it is reached.
### Limits
- Bayut UAE (bayut.com) and Bayut Saudi Arabia (bayut.sa) currently show a browser check page to automated visitors. This actor does not get past browser checks, so those searches return a free `blocked` status row. Property Finder covers both countries.
- Bayut returns at most 1,000 listings per search. Split a large search by area, type or price.
- Bayut search results have no description text.
- Dubai permit numbers are on the listing page, not in search results, so `permitNumber` is often empty for Dubai. Abu Dhabi and Saudi listings usually have it.
- New projects (off-plan project cards) are left out; individual units are included.
- Prices and fields are what the sites show at the time of the run.
# Actor input Schema
## `startUrls` (type: `array`):
Search result pages copied from bayut.com, bayut.sa, bayut.qa, bayut.om, bayut.jo or propertyfinder.ae / .sa / .qa / .bh / .eg, with any filters you set on the site. Each URL becomes its own search with its own free status row. When you add URLs, the simple filters below are ignored.
## `sites` (type: `array`):
Used when no search URLs are given. Pick one or both sites. Each site runs its own search with the same filters. Bayut works for Qatar, Oman and Jordan; Bayut UAE and Saudi Arabia currently show a browser check and return a free blocked status row.
## `country` (type: `string`):
Property Finder covers UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Egypt. Bayut covers UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Jordan. A site that does not cover the country returns a free status row.
## `city` (type: `string`):
A city, community or building name as the site spells it, for example Dubai, Dubai Marina, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, Muscat, Amman. Leave empty for the whole country.
## `purpose` (type: `string`):
Listings for rent or for sale.
## `propertyType` (type: `string`):
For example apartment, villa, townhouse, penthouse, duplex, land, office, shop, warehouse. Use any for all types.
## `minBeds` (type: `integer`):
0 means studio. Leave empty for no minimum.
## `maxBeds` (type: `integer`):
Leave empty for no maximum.
## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):
In the local currency of the country (AED, SAR, QAR, BHD, EGP, OMR, JOD). For rent this is the rent for the rent period the site shows, usually yearly in the UAE.
## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):
In the local currency of the country.
## `furnished` (type: `string`):
Only furnished or only unfurnished listings.
## `rentFrequency` (type: `string`):
For rentals only: yearly, monthly, weekly or daily rent.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Stop each search (each URL, or each site) after this many listings. Newest listings come first. Bayut allows at most 1,000 listings per search.
## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):
Return only listings not seen in earlier runs of the same watch list. The first run returns everything and saves it as the baseline. Best with a daily schedule.
## `onlyChanged` (type: `boolean`):
Return only listings whose price changed since the last run of the same watch list. With both options on, you get new listings and price changes.
## `watchListName` (type: `string`):
A name to keep tracking state under, for example dubai-marina-2br. Use the same name on every scheduled run. Leave empty to use a name made from your searches, which changes when you change the searches.
## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):
Add the full description text (Property Finder only; Bayut search results have no description). Off keeps rows small.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Leave empty: the actor starts without a proxy and moves to Apify datacenter, then residential proxy only if a site blocks it. Set a proxy here to force one.
## `autoProxyFallback` (type: `boolean`):
When a site blocks a request, retry on Apify datacenter proxy and then residential proxy.
## `allowResidentialFallback` (type: `boolean`):
Allow the last step of the fallback to use residential proxy. Turn off to never use it.
## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):
Pause between requests to the same site. Higher is gentler.
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Listing rows with price, beds, area, location, agency, permit, photos, dates and tracking fields, plus status rows.

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

Status per search, new and changed counts, requests, proxy tier and bytes per 1,000 listings.
