## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Hongguo Batch Video URL Parser

Parse up to ten unique Hongguo episode IDs in one upstream request. Successful episodes produce normalized playable results; failed items remain visible with clear error fields and do not trigger a video-result charge.

### Why use the batch parser?

- Submit up to ten unique `videoId` values per run
- Reduce workflow overhead compared with separate single-parser runs
- Keep success and failure records together
- Pay `video-result` only for unique successful episodes with non-empty URLs
- Receive all available qualities with `quality: all` while charging each successful episode once

### Quick start

```json
{
  "videoIds": [
    "7601395019102047257",
    "7625142218017229849"
  ],
  "quality": "1080p",
  "strict": false
}
```

Duplicate IDs are removed before the maximum of ten unique IDs is enforced. Supported qualities: `2160p`, `1080p`, `720p`, `540p`, `480p`, `360p`, and `all`.

### Call with curl

```bash
curl -L "https://api.apify.com/v2/actors/dramadatalab~hongguo-batch-video-parser/run-sync-get-dataset-items?timeout=120" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"videoIds":["7601395019102047257","7625142218017229849"],"quality":"1080p","strict":false}'
```

### Call with JavaScript

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('dramadatalab/hongguo-batch-video-parser').call({
    videoIds: ['7601395019102047257', '7625142218017229849'],
    quality: '1080p',
    strict: false,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
const successful = items.filter((item) => item.status === 'success');
const failed = items.filter((item) => item.status === 'error');
console.log({ successful, failed });
```

### Call with Python

```python
import os
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"])
run = client.actor("dramadatalab/hongguo-batch-video-parser").call(run_input={
    "videoIds": ["7601395019102047257", "7625142218017229849"],
    "quality": "1080p",
    "strict": False,
})
items = list(client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items())
print(items)
```

### Example successful item

```json
{
  "status": "success",
  "videoId": "7601395019102047257",
  "url": "https://example.invalid/temporary-playback-url",
  "requestedQuality": "1080p",
  "quality": "1080p",
  "codec": "h264",
  "width": 1080,
  "height": 1920,
  "traceId": "request-trace-id"
}
```

### Example failed item

```json
{
  "status": "error",
  "videoId": "invalid-or-unavailable-id",
  "errorCode": "PARSE_FAILED",
  "errorMessage": "No playable URL was returned.",
  "traceId": "request-trace-id"
}
```

Example URLs are intentionally non-functional. Live playback URLs may expire.

### Pricing

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
| --- | ---: | --- |
| Actor start | `$0.00005` | Once per run at up to 1 GB memory |
| Successful video result | `$0.006` | Per unique successful episode with a non-empty URL |

| Successful unique episodes | Typical total |
| ---: | ---: |
| 1 | `$0.00605` |
| 5 | `$0.03005` |
| 10 | `$0.06005` |

Failed items are free. If the run spending limit covers only part of the successful batch, only the paid subset of successful URLs is published. Platform usage is included.

### Troubleshooting

- **More than ten IDs:** split the input across multiple runs.
- **Duplicates:** they are automatically removed and never charged twice.
- **Partial success:** inspect `status`, `errorCode`, and `errorMessage` per item.
- **Run spending limit reached:** allow `$0.00005 + $0.006 × expectedSuccessfulEpisodes`.
- **Expired URLs:** rerun the Actor for current results.
