## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Hongguo Release Calendar API

Query Hongguo release and subscription calendar data for a specific date. Nested upstream calendar sections are flattened into one convenient Dataset row per title. Users do not need a Hongguo API key.

### What you get

- Date-based release discovery using `YYYYMMDD`
- Offset pagination metadata on every returned title
- Normalized `bookId` and `videoId` values for downstream Actors
- No upstream billing balances, credentials, or raw response envelopes
- A trace ID for support and debugging

### Input

```json
{
  "targetDate": "20261010",
  "offset": 0
}
```

Leave `targetDate` empty to let the upstream service use the current Asia/Shanghai date. If `hasMore` is true, call the Actor again with the returned `nextOffset`.

### Call with curl

```bash
curl -L "https://api.apify.com/v2/actors/dramadatalab~hongguo-release-calendar/run-sync-get-dataset-items?timeout=120" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"targetDate":"20261010","offset":0}'
```

### Call with JavaScript

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('dramadatalab/hongguo-release-calendar').call({
    targetDate: '20261010',
    offset: 0,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

### Call with Python

```python
import os
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"])
run = client.actor("dramadatalab/hongguo-release-calendar").call(run_input={
    "targetDate": "20261010",
    "offset": 0,
})
items = list(client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items())
print(items)
```

### Example result

```json
{
  "status": "success",
  "bookId": "7651964941498338328",
  "title": "Example calendar title",
  "cover": "https://example.invalid/cover.jpg",
  "targetDate": "20261010",
  "offset": 0,
  "hasMore": true,
  "nextOffset": 20,
  "traceId": "request-trace-id"
}
```

### Pricing

| Event | Price | Charged when |
| --- | ---: | --- |
| Actor start | `$0.00005` | Once per run at up to 1 GB memory |
| Successful metadata query | `$0.002` | Once when one or more valid titles are returned |

A typical successful run costs **$0.00205**. Empty dates and failed queries do not trigger the metadata event. Platform usage is included.

### Troubleshooting

- `targetDate` must be a real date in `YYYYMMDD` format.
- `offset` must be zero or greater.
- Set `maxTotalChargeUsd` to at least `$0.00205` for a successful result-bearing run.
