## Pricing

from $0.80 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ASOS Product Search & Rich Catalog (Unofficial)

A lightweight ASOS catalog Actor for the qualified **COM / GB / GBP / en-GB** market contour. It uses direct first-party ASOS responses with a browser-shaped HTTP client; no browser, login, authenticated session, or proxy is required by the validated path.

### Operations

- `search` — keyword search. Requires `query`. One first-party request.
- `category` — category browse. Requires numeric `categoryId`. One first-party request.
- `item` — rich product card. Requires numeric `itemId`. Uses one catalogue summary request to resolve the canonical PDP URL, followed by one PDP request. It does **not** fan out per variant.

### Rich item output

The validated item path can return, when ASOS exposes them for that product:

- product ID/code, name, brand, gender, colour and product type;
- current/previous price, currency and discount percentage;
- product description, brand description, material/about-me text, care information and size/fit text;
- primary image plus the visible image gallery;
- variants with size, SKU, colour, catalogue availability, stock-first effective availability, live stock flags and variant price;
- available sizes and total available-variant count computed from live stock when stock data is present;
- breadcrumb taxonomy;
- aggregate rating and review count;
- canonical PDP URL and GB market metadata.

ASOS does not expose every field on every product. Fields such as `size_and_fit` remain `null` when the PDP marks them absent. The validated fixture did not expose a source-bound EAN/barcode or rating-distribution object, so the Actor does not invent them.

### Search and category output

Search/category rows remain compact for throughput: product identity, name, brand, colour, price, previous price, currency, URL and primary image. They are not silently expanded into item-detail calls.

### Input and pagination

`limit` is bounded to 1–100 and `offset` must be non-negative. `sort` is passed only to search when supplied. Runtime validation fails before network traffic for missing required values or non-numeric category/product IDs.

### Source fidelity and failure behavior

The Actor parses ASOS structured PDP configuration and JSON-LD that are bound to the requested product. It verifies product identity before publishing a dataset row. Source HTTP errors, malformed JSON, missing products, missing PDP URLs, blocked PDPs, and PDPs without structured product data fail closed; the run writes `OUTPUT.success=false` and raises instead of returning a false-green result.

`includeRaw=true` keeps source JSON for search/category. For item, OUTPUT contains the catalogue summary plus the parsed first-party PDP structures; the full HTML page is not stored.

### Dataset and OUTPUT

Buyer-facing rows are written to the default dataset. The `OUTPUT` key contains operation status, item count, market, errors, and publication/charging metadata. The Actor is compatible with the `result-item` Pay-Per-Event event when the platform charging manager is enabled, but pricing/publication are separate release decisions and are not implied by this source build.

### Scope

This Actor is unofficial and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ASOS. The implementation intentionally stays on the qualified lightweight contour and does not add browser automation, private cookies, account access, proxy escalation, or per-result detail fan-out.

# Actor input Schema

## `operation` (type: `string`):

Search by keyword, browse a numeric ASOS category, or fetch one rich product card.

## `query` (type: `string`):

Search term. Required when operation is search.

## `categoryId` (type: `string`):

Numeric ASOS category ID. Required when operation is category.

## `itemId` (type: `string`):

Numeric ASOS product ID. Required for item. The rich item path uses one summary lookup plus one PDP request; it does not fan out per variant.

## `limit` (type: `integer`):

Maximum products requested for search or category in one source request.

## `offset` (type: `integer`):

Zero-based product offset for search or category pagination.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Optional ASOS sort value for search, such as freshness when supported by ASOS.

## `includeRaw` (type: `boolean`):

Include source JSON for search/category. For item, include the summary payload plus parsed first-party PDP structures in OUTPUT; full PDP HTML is not stored.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "operation": "search",
  "query": "dress",
  "limit": 24,
  "offset": 0,
  "includeRaw": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Normalized ASOS product rows.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Run status, counts, market and source metadata.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "query": "dress"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("dromb/asos-product-search-catalog-unofficial").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
