## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Microsoft Ad Library Scraper

Scrape public ads from the [Microsoft Ad Library](https://adlibrary.ads.microsoft.com/) using the official Ad Library API. Search by keyword or advertiser ID, filter by date range and EEA country, and optionally expand per-ad details such as impression ranges, country share, and targeting.

> Note: The Ad Library covers ads served in the EU / EEA (transparency / compliance data), not global Bing Ads performance reports.

### Key Features

- Search ads by keyword (`searchTexts`) and/or advertiser ID
- Filter by start/end date and EEA countries
- Paginate until `maxItems` is reached
- Optional `includeAdDetails` for impressions, country share, and targets
- Optional Apify Proxy support
- No authentication required (public API)

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|-------|------|----------|-------------|
| searchTexts | array | No\* | Keywords to search in ad content |
| advertiserIds | array | No\* | Advertiser IDs to filter |
| startDate | string | No | `yyyy-MM-dd` |
| endDate | string | No | `yyyy-MM-dd` |
| countryCodes | array | No | Country names or numeric codes (e.g. `Germany` / `72`) |
| maxItems | integer | No | Max ads to save (default 50) |
| includeAdDetails | boolean | No | Fetch AdDetails per ad (default false) |
| proxyConfiguration | object | No | Proxy settings |

\* At least one of `searchTexts` or `advertiserIds` is required.

#### Input Example

```json
{
    "searchTexts": ["nike"],
    "maxItems": 20,
    "includeAdDetails": false
}
```

#### With details and country filter

```json
{
    "searchTexts": ["shopify"],
    "countryCodes": ["Germany", "France"],
    "startDate": "2025-01-01",
    "maxItems": 10,
    "includeAdDetails": true
}
```

### Output

Each ad is saved as one dataset record:

```json
{
    "adId": 71056224111848,
    "advertiserId": 4295011316,
    "advertiserName": "Passa Sports B.V.",
    "title": "Nike Padelschuhe Herren - ...",
    "description": "",
    "displayUrl": "www.passasports.de/Padelkleidung/Nike",
    "destinationUrl": "https://www.passasports.de/padel/padel-schuhe/herren/nike",
    "assetJson": null,
    "paidForByName": null,
    "startDate": "2026-04-04",
    "endDate": "2026-10-20",
    "totalImpressionsRange": "2.5K - 5K",
    "impressionsByCountry": [
        { "country": "Germany", "impressionShare": "97.3%" }
    ],
    "targets": [
        { "targetType": "Location", "usedForExclusion": false }
    ],
    "restrictionReason": null,
    "searchText": "nike",
    "queryAdvertiserId": null,
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-22T00:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Detail fields (`startDate`, `totalImpressionsRange`, etc.) are populated only when `includeAdDetails` is `true`.

### Use Cases

- Competitor ad monitoring on Bing / Microsoft Advertising (EEA)
- Brand and trademark mention tracking
- Regulatory / transparency research
- Creative and landing-page discovery
