## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SAM.gov Contract Opportunities Monitor

Find **federal contract opportunities** on SAM.gov (RFPs, RFQs, sources sought, presolicitations) and get them as a clean table with the **contracting officer's name, email and phone**. Turn on **monitor mode** and schedule it daily: you only get (and pay for) notices you haven't seen yet.

**No SAM.gov API key needed.**

### Who it's for

- **Government contractors / BD teams**: get a daily feed of new bids in your NAICS codes and set-asides.
- **Proposal consultants & GovCon agencies**: monitor opportunities for several clients, each with its own monitor name.
- **Lead-gen & market research**: see which agencies are buying what, and who to contact.

### Example: daily small-business IT bids in Virginia/Maryland

```json
{
  "naicsCodes": ["541511", "541512"],
  "setAsides": ["SBA"],
  "noticeTypes": ["o", "k", "r"],
  "states": ["VA", "MD"],
  "postedWithinDays": 2,
  "onlyNew": true,
  "monitorName": "it-small-biz"
}
```

Then go to **Schedules** and run it every morning. Connect a webhook, Slack or email integration to get alerts.

### Output (one row per opportunity)

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| title | Enterprise Modernization of the Diversion Control Division |
| notice_type | Solicitation / Sources Sought / Combined Synopsis… |
| posted_date / response_deadline | 2026-10-16 / 2026-11-05 |
| agency / sub_agency / office | DEPT OF DEFENSE / DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY / DLA MARITIME |
| naics / psc / set_aside | 541511 / D399 / SBA |
| place_city / place_state / place_zip | Kittery / ME / 03904 |
| contact_name / contact_email / contact_phone | Contracting officer |
| solicitation_number | SPMYM327Q1100 |
| description | Full notice text (plain text, first 3,000 characters) |
| url | Link to the notice on SAM.gov |

### Monitor mode

- The first run returns everything that matches your filters, up to *Max results*.
- Later runs return **only notices not returned before** under the same *Monitor name*.
- *Also return updated notices* adds amendments to notices you've already seen.

### Pricing

Pay per opportunity returned. Monitor mode means a daily schedule only charges for new notices.

### Notes

- SAM.gov limits any single search to 10,000 notices. Use filters (NAICS, dates) for big pulls.
- The state filter uses the place of performance, or the contracting office's state if none is listed.
- *Fetch full details* makes one extra request per notice. Turn it off for faster, cheaper runs if you only need titles, dates and agencies.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Each keyword runs its own search (all words must match). Results are merged and de-duplicated.

## `naicsCodes` (type: `array`):

e.g. 541511, 541512, 236220.

## `noticeTypes` (type: `array`):

Leave empty for all types.

## `setAsides` (type: `array`):

Leave empty for all (including full and open).

## `states` (type: `array`):

Two-letter codes, e.g. VA, MD, TX. Falls back to the contracting office's state when no place of performance is listed.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only notices posted in the last N days. 0 = no date limit.

## `includeInactive` (type: `boolean`):

Off = only currently active opportunities.

## `fetchDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds NAICS, PSC, set-aside, place of performance, contracting officer name/email/phone and the full description (one extra request per notice).

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Schedule this Actor daily: each run returns (and charges for) only notices it has not returned before.

## `includeUpdates` (type: `boolean`):

In monitor mode, also return notices modified since you last saw them (amendments).

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Use different names to keep separate 'seen' lists for different searches.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many opportunities (you are charged per result).
