## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC 13F Fund Holdings & Quarterly Changes

Find out **what hedge funds and institutions bought and sold last quarter**, straight from official SEC 13F filings. You get clean quarter-over-quarter diffs instead of raw XML.

### What you get, per position

**ticker** · issuer · `status` (new / exited / increased / decreased / unchanged) · shares vs previous quarter · % change · value (USD) now and last quarter · portfolio weight · put/call · filing link (CUSIP optional)

### Example

```json
{ "managers": ["1067983"], "statuses": ["new", "exited", "increased"], "minValueUsd": 10000000 }
```

### Why this one

- **Diffs, not dumps.** Rows that fund sub-managers split across lines are merged into one position before comparing.
- **Correct units.** Filings before 2023 reported values in thousands of dollars; this tool converts them so every figure is in dollars.
- **Puts and calls kept separate** from share positions.

### Notes

- Compares the two most recent report periods (original 13F-HR filings, including ones older than the filer's last 1,000 submissions). Amendments (13F-HR/A) are not merged in v1.
- If a filer has only one 13F-HR on record, rows get `status: "unknown"` instead of a false "new"; add `unknown` to **Change types** to receive them.
- `minValueUsd` applies to the larger of the current and previous quarter value, so exited positions are filtered too.
- One request per filing is rate-limited to the SEC's fair-access rules; a filer that cannot be read is skipped with a warning, the run continues.
- 13F filings are due up to 45 days after quarter end, so the data lags.
- Tickers are matched from the issuer name against the SEC's company list (about 98% of portfolio value for large funds). Unmatched rows show `ticker: null`. ETFs and funds match less often.
- CUSIP codes are **off by default** (`includeCusip`). CUSIPs are licensed by CUSIP Global Services; only enable them if your use is permitted.
- Uses public SEC EDGAR data. Not investment advice.

# Actor input Schema

## `managers` (type: `array`):

SEC CIK numbers of 13F filers, e.g. 1067983 (Berkshire Hathaway), 1037389 (Renaissance), 1350694 (Bridgewater). Find a CIK at https://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?action=getcompany

## `statuses` (type: `array`):

Which quarter-over-quarter changes to output. 'unknown' = the filer has only one 13F-HR on record, so no comparison is possible.

## `minValueUsd` (type: `integer`):

Skip positions worth less than this in both the current and the previous quarter.

## `includeCusip` (type: `boolean`):

Off by default. CUSIP identifiers are licensed by CUSIP Global Services; only enable if you hold an appropriate license or your use is permitted.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "managers": [
    "1067983"
  ],
  "statuses": [
    "new",
    "exited",
    "increased",
    "decreased"
  ],
  "minValueUsd": 0,
  "includeCusip": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Quarter-over-quarter position changes per fund: new, exited, increased, decreased, with ticker, shares, value and portfolio weight.
