## Changelog

### Unreleased (listing for the Store search, 31 Oct 2026)

- Title, description, README intro and input schema in one set of search words: ATS detector, ATS lookup, careers page finder, which ATS does a company use, applicant tracking system, job board, board URL. The SEO title and description are in LISTING.md, set by API. What the Actor does is unchanged.
- Dataset: every field has a description; the table view is titled ATS and job boards found and shows the careers page. Output schema: descriptions, and the RUN_SUMMARY record next to the dataset.
- local_run.py --example runs Apify's daily test locally: the prefill input and the platform's pass rule. Add --fixtures to run it offline.
- Price 0.003 USD per site where a job board was found (was 0.002): PRICE.md.

### Unreleased (repairs after a test against real sites, 8 Oct 2026)

- The agent string is now `edge-careers-page-detector/0.2` (was `edgef4-careers-page-detector/0.1`), the same neutral naming as the other tools of the batch. robots.txt groups for `edge-careers-page-detector` apply to it. The README says how a site owner can block it.
- A service or marketing host under a platform's domain (for example `landing.recruitee.com`) is no longer reported as a board. On a vendor's own site only its careers link can name its board.
- The careers link is the one that clearly means the company's own jobs. A product page about career sites is no longer taken as the careers page; when only such links exist the record is `not_found` with `confidence` `low` and no `careers_url`.
- A robots.txt that cannot be read is no longer reported as a disallow: a 4xx answer other than 429 counts as no rules, a 5xx answer, a 429, a timeout or a network failure gives `error` `robots_unreadable`, and a host name that does not resolve gives `error` `dns_failure`.
- README and records agree on `blocked`: it covers a robots.txt disallow (`error` `robots_disallow`) and a refused request, HTTP 401, 403, 429 or a bot challenge (`error` `blocked`, `error_detail` starts with "the site refused the request").

### 0.1 (first version)

- From a company site to its hosted job board on 14 platforms, with the exact link, frame or script address as evidence.
- Careers link found by path and link text in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Finnish and Swedish.
- robots.txt obeyed; only the site's host and its www form are requested; a careers page on another host is recorded, never fetched.
- A ready input for the job board reader on the four platforms it reads.
