## Korea Business Directory (Official SEMAS Store Data)

Get an **official list of South Korean shops, restaurants, cafes, clinics, salons, academies and other small businesses** as clean JSON / CSV / Excel. Each row is a store registered in the commercial district database of the Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS, 소상공인시장진흥공단), a government agency, compiled from National Tax Service and card company data.

Type a district (`Gangnam-gu, Seoul`, `서울 강남구`), a whole province (`Busan`), or a point and radius, pick categories in plain English (`Cafe`, `Korean cuisine`, `Hair salon`) and get every matching business with its address, floor and GPS coordinates. No scraping of private websites: the data comes from the official public data API.

### What you can use it for

- **Market sizing and site selection**: count cafes, pharmacies or gyms per district or within 500 m of a location before opening a store.
- **Competitor mapping**: list every business of a category around a point, with coordinates ready for a map or GIS tool.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$1 per 1,000 businesses**. You only pay for rows saved to the dataset after filters.

### Good to know

- **No phone numbers, opening hours or reviews**: the official dataset does not contain them. If you need them, use this list as the base and enrich it.
- **Data month**: the source publishes the database as of a reference month, shown in `data_month` on every row. Businesses that opened or closed after that month may be missing or still listed.
- **Names and addresses are in Korean** as registered. `name_romanized` and `neighborhood` are mechanical romanizations (Revised Romanization), not official English names. Categories, sectors, provinces and districts are in English.
- **Floors**: `floor` is a number (negative for basements) when the source gives one; the original text is kept in `floor_ko`.
- **2026 administrative changes** (for example the Jeonnam-Gwangju merger) follow the source's current codes. Inputs like `Gwangju` still work.
