## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Lead Extractor — Emails, Phones & Socials in One Run

Turn any **keyword + location** into an outreach-ready lead list: business name, phone, website, rating, address, **plus emails and social links pulled from each business's own website**. Export to CSV, Excel, Google Sheets or your CRM.

**Built for:** local marketing agencies, SEO consultants, web designers, B2B sales teams and freelancers who prospect local businesses by city and category.

***

### Why this actor

- **Contact enrichment is included in the per-lead price.** You don't pay extra for emails and social links.
- **Flat, spreadsheet-ready output.** One row per business with no nested JSON to untangle, so you can paste it straight into Sheets or upload it to your CRM.
- **Small, fast runs by design.** Run one city and one category at a time, and get clean results in minutes, not hours.

### What you get per business

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `businessName`, `category` | Name and Google Maps category |
| `rating`, `reviewCount` | Star rating and number of reviews |
| `phone`, `website`, `address` | Core contact details |
| `url`, `placeId`, `latitude`, `longitude` | Google Maps link and location |
| `hours`, `menuUrl`, photos | Opening hours and extras where listed |
| `emailsString` | Public emails found on the business website (when enrichment is on) |
| `facebookUrl`, `instagramUrl`, other socials | Social profiles found on the website (when enrichment is on) |
| `scrapedAt` | Timestamp of the scrape |

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more searches, such as `dentists in Austin TX`.
2. Set `maxResults` (start with 15–50).
3. Leave `extractEmails` on to get outreach-ready contacts.
4. Click **Start**, then export the dataset as CSV, Excel or JSON.

#### Recommended input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["roofing companies in Phoenix AZ"],
  "maxResults": 25,
  "extractEmails": true,
  "maxEnrichmentPages": 2,
  "websiteRequestTimeoutSecs": 8
}
```

#### Maps data only (fastest)

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["restaurants in Brooklyn NY"],
  "maxResults": 50,
  "extractEmails": false
}
```

### Input reference

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `searchQueries` | array | Keyword + location searches, e.g. `plumbers in Denver CO` |
| `maxResults` | number | Max businesses per search |
| `extractEmails` | boolean | Visit each website to collect emails and social links |
| `maxEnrichmentPages` | number | How many pages per website to check (home, contact, about) |
| `websiteRequestTimeoutSecs` | number | Timeout per website request |

### Example output

```json
{
  "businessName": "ATX Family Dental",
  "category": "Dentist",
  "rating": "4.9",
  "reviewCount": "260",
  "address": "Austin, TX",
  "phone": "+1 512-555-0100",
  "website": "https://example-dental.com",
  "hours": "Open ⋅ Closes 5 PM",
  "latitude": 30.2482229,
  "longitude": -97.7559705,
  "url": "https://www.google.com/maps/place/...",
  "emailsString": "info@example-dental.com",
  "facebookUrl": "https://facebook.com/example",
  "instagramUrl": "https://instagram.com/example",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-08-25T00:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

**From $2.00 per 1,000 leads**, with emails and socials included. You pay only for businesses returned to your dataset. Apify's free plan credits are enough to test this actor on real searches.

### Tips for better results

- **Be specific.** `dentists in Austin TX` returns far better leads than `businesses in USA`.
- **Split big jobs.** Ten runs of one city each beat one run of a whole state: they're faster, cleaner and easier to retry.
- **Missing emails are normal.** Many small businesses don't publish an email. The actor collects only what is publicly listed on their website.

### Integrations

Run it on a schedule, call it through the Apify API, or connect it to **Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n, HubSpot** or any webhook. You can also use it from AI agents through Apify's MCP server.

### FAQ

**Is scraping Google Maps legal?**
This actor collects only publicly available business information. You are responsible for following the privacy and anti-spam laws that apply to your outreach, such as GDPR, CAN-SPAM and India's DPDP Act.

**My run timed out. What should I do?**
Lower `maxResults`, reduce `maxEnrichmentPages`, or split the search into smaller city/category batches.

**Can I get only businesses without a website?**
Yes. Filter the exported dataset where `website` is empty. These are often the best prospects for web design agencies.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Search queries to find businesses on Google Maps. Use specific local searches for best results, e.g. 'dentists in Austin TX', 'plumbers in Phoenix AZ', 'roofing companies in Dallas TX'.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Direct Google Maps URLs to scrape (e.g. a specific business page or search results URL)

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum business results to return. For best reliability, use 10–50 per run. Hard-capped at 150 to avoid timeout-prone public runs.

## `maxCrawledPages` (type: `integer`):

Maximum total Google Maps pages/requests. Keep this modest; large jobs should be split into multiple smaller runs.

## `extractEmails` (type: `boolean`):

Visit each business website to extract emails/social links. Slower and more timeout-prone; keep off for fastest Google Maps lead exports.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. Apify Proxy is recommended to avoid blocks.

## `maxEnrichmentPages` (type: `integer`):

When email/social extraction is enabled, maximum website pages to visit per business. Lower is faster and less likely to time out.

## `websiteRequestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Timeout for each business website enrichment page. Lower values improve reliability on large jobs.

## `businessPageTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time spent processing one Google Maps business page.
