## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Keyword Search Volume, CPC & Difficulty (Bulk, No Subscription)

Paste a list of keywords and get, for each one:

- **Monthly Google search volume** and the last 12 months of searches, with the peak month
- **CPC** (cost per click) and the top-of-page bid range advertisers pay
- **Ads competition** (low, medium, high)
- **Keyword difficulty** (0–100): how hard it is to rank in the organic results
- **Search intent**: informational, commercial, transactional or navigational
- **Trend**: month-over-month and year-over-year change

No Ahrefs, Semrush or Google Ads account needed, and no monthly plan. You pay only for keywords that come back with data.

### Three modes

| Mode | What you give | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| **Search volume** | Your own keyword list (thousands per run are fine) | One row per keyword |
| **Keyword ideas** | Seed keywords | Up to 1,000 longer phrases per seed that contain it, with metrics |
| **Related keywords** | Seed keywords | What people also search for, with metrics |

Pick any country (United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India…) and language.

### Pricing

Pay per keyword row that has data. Keywords Google has no data for still appear in the output, marked "No data", and are **not charged**. Set **Minimum monthly searches** to skip low-volume ideas without paying for them. In the two ideas modes there is also a small fee per seed keyword, because each seed is a separate lookup. The run stops cleanly at your *Maximum cost per run*.

### Output

| keyword | searchVolume | cpc | competitionLevel | keywordDifficulty | searchIntent | peakMonth |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| running shoes | 301000 | 1.23 | HIGH | 74 | commercial | Nov |

Download as CSV, Excel or JSON, or send it straight to Google Sheets with the *Google Sheets Import & Export (Reliable)* Actor as an integration.

### Where the data comes from

Metrics come from [DataForSEO](https://dataforseo.com/) Labs, which is built on Google Ads Keyword Planner data plus clickstream modelling. Volumes are monthly averages and are rounded the way Google rounds them.

### FAQ

**Why do some keywords have no data?** Very rare or brand-new phrases have too few searches for Google to report. They're free.

**Can I schedule it?** Yes. Use an Apify schedule to track the same list every month.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

One keyword per line. In Search volume mode you can paste thousands; in the ideas modes each line is a seed keyword.

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Search volume looks up exactly the keywords you give. Keyword ideas finds longer phrases containing each seed. Related keywords finds what people also search for.

## `locationName` (type: `string`):

Country in English, e.g. United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India, Australia.

## `languageCode` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code, e.g. en, de, fr, es.

## `maxIdeasPerSeed` (type: `integer`):

Ideas modes only. Up to 1,000 per seed keyword.

## `minSearchVolume` (type: `integer`):

Skip (and don't charge for) keywords below this volume. 0 keeps everything.

## `includeMonthly` (type: `boolean`):

Adds monthly search counts and the peak month to each row.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `keywords` (type: `string`):
One row per keyword: search volume, CPC, competition, difficulty, intent and monthly searches.
## `summary` (type: `string`):
How many keywords returned data, how many had none, and whether the run stopped at your cost limit.
