## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs Aggregator

Remote jobs from four free public job boards (Remote OK, Himalayas, Jobicy and Arbeitnow) in one clean format. Filter by keyword, location, employment type, salary and posting date, and export to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets. No scraping, no proxies, no login.

### What you get

One row per job:

| title | company | location | employmentType | salaryText | postedAt | sourceName | url |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Senior Python Developer | Acme | Europe | Full Time | USD 80,000–120,000 per year | 2026-10-15 | Remote OK | https://remoteok.com/... |

Every row also has `jobId`, `source`, `tags`, `seniority`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod`, `companyLogo`, the plain-text `description` and `scrapedAt`. Turn on *Also include description HTML* for the original markup.

### Use cases

- Daily remote-job alerts for a niche: schedule a run with `keywords`, `postedWithinDays: 1` and send the dataset to Google Sheets, Slack or email with an integration.
- Salary research: use *Only jobs that show a salary* and export the range columns.
- Feed a job board or a newsletter with fresh listings, linking back to the board that lists each job.

### Pricing

Pay per job saved. Set *Maximum jobs* or the run's *Maximum cost per run* and the run stops there. A board that cannot be read is skipped and reported in the run summary, and costs nothing.

### Good to know

- **Always link back.** Every job carries `sourceName` and `url`, the job's page on the board that lists it. Remote OK, Jobicy, Himalayas and Arbeitnow ask that anyone showing their jobs credits the board and links to the listing. Please do.
- **Jobs are the boards' own feeds.** Coverage is what these four boards publish; the same job can appear on more than one board.
- **Salary is only there when the board shows it.** Remote OK salaries are in US dollars per year.
- **Remote OK gives no employment type.** It is left empty, and dropped if you filter on type.
- **Boards left out on purpose:** Remotive and We Work Remotely, because their terms do not allow passing their jobs on to third-party sites.
- Arbeitnow lists jobs in Europe (mostly Germany) and has a *remote* flag; the other boards are remote only.

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which boards to read. Leave empty for all four: remoteok (Remote OK), himalayas, jobicy, arbeitnow (Europe, mostly Germany).

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs matching at least one of these words, e.g. python, designer, devops. Leave empty for all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, e.g. intern, junior, senior.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose location mentions one of these, e.g. Europe, United States, Germany. Many remote jobs say Worldwide or Anywhere.

## `employmentTypes` (type: `array`):

For example full time, contract, part time. Remote OK does not give a type, so it is dropped when you set this.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Skip older postings. Leave empty for all.

## `salaryOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs with a salary range.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the full description as plain text to each job.

## `includeHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the original HTML of the description.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs. Each job saved is charged once.

## `allFields` (type: `string`):

Every job with all fields, including the description.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Jobs read and saved per board, and any board that could not be read.
