## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## NaukriGulf Jobs Scraper — Gulf roles with experience bands

Search NaukriGulf and get back **one row per job**, with the two things Gulf listings actually turn on already parsed: **the required experience band as numbers**, and **city and country split apart** — while keeping the original text so you can check the split.

### What you get per job

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title`, `company` | `Business / Data Analyst`, `Dicetek LLC` |
| `experienceMinYears` / `experienceMaxYears` | `5` / `8` — from `5 - 8 Years` |
| `experienceText` | `5 - 8 Years` — the original wording is kept |
| `city`, `country` | `Dubai`, `United Arab Emirates` |
| `locationText` | `Dubai - United Arab Emirates (UAE)` — also kept |
| `postedText`, `easyApply` | `19 Aug`, `true` |
| `jobId`, `url` | `140826000410`, direct link to the listing |
| `searchQuery`, `searchCountry` | which search produced the row |

Experience is the field that decides whether a Gulf posting is worth opening, and it is published as free text (`5 - 8 Years`). Parsed into two numbers it becomes filterable. A band that reads backwards, or that cannot be parsed, comes back as `null` rather than a guess — and `experienceText` is always there so you can see what it said.

### Countries

`uae`, `saudi-arabia`, `qatar`, `kuwait`, `bahrain`, `oman`, `egypt`, `jordan`, `lebanon`.
One country per run; all queries in a run use it.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["data analyst", "supply chain"],
  "country": "uae",
  "maxItemsPerQuery": 30
}
```

Listings come 30 per page, so `maxItemsPerQuery` rounds up to whole pages. You are charged **per job returned**, and duplicates are removed before charging.

### Summary (key-value store, `SEARCH_SUMMARY`)

`totalJobs`, `uniqueCompanies`, `country`, `queries`.

`uniqueCompanies` next to `totalJobs` tells you how much of a result set is one employer posting repeatedly — a large job count from three companies is a different market than the same count from thirty.

### Limits, stated plainly

- **NaukriGulf does not publish salary**, so there is no pay field here. If you need pay, that data is not on this board.
- Listings are rendered in the browser, so this Actor runs a real browser. That makes it slower than an HTTP scraper.
- If more than half the rows come back missing required fields, the run fails loudly rather than returning a thinned-out dataset.
- Only job listings are read. Nothing about applicants is collected.

Unofficial; not affiliated with NaukriGulf or Info Edge.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

One or more job titles, for example 'data analyst'. You can also paste a NaukriGulf listing URL directly.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Which NaukriGulf country market to search. All queries in a run use the same country.

## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Listings are 30 per page, so this rounds up to whole pages. You are charged per job returned.

## `minIntervalMs` (type: `integer`):

Pacing between page fetches. Do not lower this.

## `useProxy` (type: `boolean`):

Leave this on.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "data analyst"
  ],
  "country": "uae",
  "maxItemsPerQuery": 30,
  "minIntervalMs": 3000,
  "useProxy": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Every job this run produced, as JSON.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

How many jobs and how many distinct employers this run found.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "queries": [
        "data analyst"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("entrogix_works/naukrigulf-jobs").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
