## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Austrian Federal Law & Gazette Scraper (RIS Open Data)

> 🇩🇪 Neue Bundesgesetzblätter, konsolidiertes Bundesrecht, Regierungsvorlagen und Begutachtungsentwürfe aus dem offiziellen RIS (Open Government Data, CC BY 4.0).

Monitor **Austrian federal legislation** from the official **RIS – Rechtsinformationssystem des Bundes**:

- **Federal Law Gazette (BGBl, authentic, since 2004)** – newest publications first (default: last month)
- **Consolidated federal law** (Bundesrecht konsolidiert) – search norms by keyword/title
- **Government bills** (Regierungsvorlagen) and **draft laws in consultation** (Begutachtungsentwürfe)

Each result includes date, BGBl number, title/short title, issuing ministry, ELI identifier and direct **HTML / PDF / XML** links to the official text.

**Use cases:** regulatory & compliance monitoring, legal-tech, law firms, public affairs, feeding AI agents/RAG with current Austrian law. Schedule daily for alerts.

### Who is it for?

- **Legal-tech & law firms** – structured, linkable Austrian legal data without building your own parser.
- **Compliance & regulatory monitoring** – schedule daily runs and get only new items (combine with Apify integrations: e-mail, Slack, webhooks, Google Sheets).
- **Public affairs, NGOs, journalists, researchers** – track legislation by topic or ministry.
- **AI agents & RAG pipelines** – clean JSON with official source links, ideal grounding for LLM answers about Austria.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Add this Actor as a tool in any MCP client (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT connectors, …) via the Apify MCP server:
`https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=esint/austria-ris-law`
Then ask e.g. "What was published in the Austrian Federal Law Gazette this week?"

### Quick start

Run with the default input – it returns recent results within seconds. Use the API endpoint `run-sync-get-dataset-items` for one-call integrations.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `application` | `BgblAuth` (default), `BrKons`, `RegV`, `Begut` |
| `searchTerms` | full-text search, e.g. `Datenschutz` |
| `titleSearch` | search in titles |
| `period` | BGBl publication period (default 1 month) |
| `maxItems` | cap (default 100) |

### Output example

```json
{"collection":"BgblAuth","date":"2026-10-14","gazetteNumber":"BGBl. I Nr. 85/2026","part":"I","type":"Bundesgesetz","title":"…","authority":"BMF (Bundesministerium für Finanzen)","eli":"https://www.ris.bka.gv.at/eli/bgbl/I/2026/85","htmlUrl":"https://www.ris.bka.gv.at/…","pdfUrl":"https://www.ris.bka.gv.at/…","source":"RIS – Rechtsinformationssystem des Bundes (OGD, CC BY 4.0)"}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$2.00 per 1,000 documents**.
