## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## LEI Lookup (Legal Entity Identifier)

Check LEI codes in bulk or find a company's LEI by name, with an optional country filter. Each result gives the legal name, entity and registration status, legal form, legal and headquarters address, registration and next renewal dates, and a link to the public record.

**Source: GLEIF LEI data (CC0).** Not affiliated with GLEIF. This is an independent tool built on the public LEI API; it is not an official, partner or endorsed service.

### Use cases

- Validate a supplier or counterparty list: is the LEI issued, lapsed or retired, and when is renewal due?
- Find the LEI of a company by name in a given country.
- Enrich CRM or KYC spreadsheets with legal name, legal form and registered address.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| leis | List of LEI codes (looked up in batches of up to 100) |
| companyName | Legal-name search, used when no LEI codes are given |
| country | ISO 2-letter country of the legal address, e.g. `DE` |
| maxItems | Maximum records to return (default 20) |

### Output

`lei, legalName, otherNames, entityStatus, registrationStatus, category, legalForm, legalFormCode, jurisdiction, registeredAs, city, legalAddress, headquartersAddress, entityCreationDate, initialRegistrationDate, lastUpdateDate, nextRenewalDate, corroborationLevel, managingLou, bic, successorLei, detailsLimited, recordUrl, attribution`

Invalid or unknown codes come back as items with an `error` field.

### Privacy: sole proprietors

Some LEIs belong to individuals acting as sole proprietors. For those records the Actor returns only the LEI, status and country (`detailsLimited: true`). The full record is returned only when you look up exactly one LEI. The Actor is not meant for, and does not support, bulk export of individuals.

### Fair use

Requests stay under 60 per minute with automatic back-off when the API asks to slow down.

### Licence

LEI data is published under CC0. Please keep the `attribution` field when you reuse the data.
