## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## No-Website Leads: New Businesses Without a Website (US, UK, FR)

**Newly registered companies that have no website yet, straight from the official registers.** A company that was registered this week has no site, no agency and no accountant yet: it is the moment to reach it. This Actor reads the new registrations of the UK (Companies House), France (the official gazette, BODACC) and five US states (New York, Texas, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon), checks each company for a website at its own name, and returns the ones that have none.

In a sample of 160 companies registered between 28 September and 2 October 2026 (80 in the UK, 80 in France, holding and property companies set aside), **90 had no domain name at their name, and 28 had a domain with no site on it**: 14 of those domains had been created around the registration of the company. 26 companies had a website, and 16 could not be decided. In a first US sample (45 companies registered in September 2026 in New York, Texas, Colorado, Connecticut and Oregon), 30 had no .com or .net domain at their name, 5 had a domain with no site on it, 5 had a website and 5 could not be decided.

- 🆕 **Fresh by construction**: companies registered in the last days, the most recent first. Not a list of old businesses that never bothered with a site.
- 🌐 **Checked, not assumed**: for each company, the domain names built from its name are tested, then the page that answers there is read.
- 🔥 **The domain was just bought**: when a domain at the company's name exists, you get its creation date. A domain created around the registration, with no site on it yet, belongs to someone who is about to need one.
- 🏷️ **Filter by trade and place**: restaurants in Manchester, hairdressers in Lyon, contractors in Denver. Activity keywords, UK towns and postcodes, French departments, US cities and counties.
- 📅 **Before they open (France)**: the notice often gives the day the activity starts, sometimes weeks ahead, and tells when a company is registered with no activity yet. You can write before the doors open.
- 🧹 **No dead weight**: holding companies, property-holding companies and dormant shells never need a website. They are skipped, and never charged.
- 🔔 **Daily feed**: name your search, schedule it, and each run returns only the companies you have not received yet.
- 🛡️ **Companies only**: no sole traders, no director names, no personal phone numbers. What you get is the public record of a legal entity.

### ✨ Why this Actor

| | |
|---|---|
| 🎯 **Leads nobody else has called** | Lists built from maps show businesses that have been open for years, and every agency has the same ones. A company registered on Monday is not on any map yet. |
| 🔥 **A warm signal** | `domainRecent: true` means the domain at the company's name was created in the year before its registration, or after it, and shows no site yet: holding page, registrar page, or nothing at all. |
| 🧭 **Honest about doubt** | When a live site answers at the company's name on a domain much older than the company, it may be another business with the same name. Those companies are set aside as `website_unsure` and are not sold to you as leads. |
| 🧾 **Official sources** | UK: Companies House. France: BODACC, the official gazette where every new company is published. US: the open data of the Secretaries of State of New York, Colorado, Connecticut and Oregon, and of the Texas Comptroller. Each lead links to its official record. |
| 🌍 **Three countries, one format** | Same fields for the UK, France and the US: name, activity when the register gives one, registered office, registration date, website status. |
| 💸 **You pay for leads** | A company that already has a website, or that is skipped, costs nothing (unless you ask for every new company). |

### 🎯 Use cases

- **Web designers and agencies**: a weekly list of new companies in your town that have no website, with the activity and the address to write to. Start with the ones that just bought their domain (`output: newDomain`).
- **Domain, hosting and website-builder sales**: companies with no domain at their name yet (`output: noDomain`), or with a domain and an empty holding page.
- **Accountants, insurers, banks, payroll and software vendors**: new companies need everything in their first weeks. Use `output: all` to get every new company with its website status.
- **Direct mail**: a new business mailing list. Company name and registered address of every new company in your area, ready for a postcard or a letter (dataset view "Mailing list").
- **Local market watch**: which trades are opening in your area this month.

}
```
`websiteStatus` takes four values:
| Value | Meaning | Returned as a lead |
|---|---|---|
| `no_website_found` | No domain name built from the company's name is active. | yes |
| `domain_registered` | A domain at its name exists and shows no site: no answer, a holding page, or an empty page. | yes |
| `website_unsure` | A live site answers at its name, on a domain created more than a year before the company: another business with the same name, or this business before it became a company. | no (only with `output: all`) |
| `website_found` | A site of this company: it shows the registration number, or the name and postcode, or it is a live site on a domain created around the registration. | no (only with `output: all`, with the emails and phones found on it) |
When a domain exists, five fields describe it:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `domain` | The domain the verdict rests on. |
| `domainCreatedOn` | The day it was created, from the registry of the domain. Empty when the registry did not answer. |
| `domainRecent` | `true` when it was created in the year before the registration of the company, or after it. |
| `domainPage` | What answers there: `no_response`, `parked` (holding page, registrar page, domain for sale), `empty` (a page with almost no text) or `page` (a real page). |
| `domainPageTitle` | The title of that page. |
Two more fields for French companies: `activityStartsOn` is the day the company declared as the start of its activity (it can be in the future), and `noActivityYet` is true when the company was registered without any activity yet (its `activity` is then empty: the name is all the register knows).
A free run summary gives the totals: companies checked, skipped, with and without a website, and how many domains were recent.
### ❓ FAQ
**How do you know a company has no website?** The Actor builds the domain names a company would normally use from its registered name and trade name (`tapwagon.co.uk`, `tap-wagon.com`…) and checks which ones are active. For those that are, it reads the page that answers and looks for the company: its registration number, or its name and postcode. If the company is not named there, the age of the domain decides: a real page on a domain created around the registration is the company's own site; a real page on a much older domain is left undecided; no real page means no website. A company that runs its site under an unrelated brand name will be reported without a website: the check starts from the names the register knows.
**Where does the creation date of a domain come from?** For .fr domains created in the last three months, from the daily lists of new domain names that Afnic, the .fr registry, publishes as open data. For the others, from the public registry of the domain through RDAP, the standard protocol registries provide for this: Nominet for .uk, Verisign for .com, Afnic for .fr. Only the creation date is read, never the holder of the domain. Registries are asked sparingly: if one slows down or refuses, the Actor stops asking it for the rest of the run. `domainCreatedOn` is then empty for its domains, and `output: newDomain` returns fewer leads.
**What are the best leads?** Companies with `domainRecent: true`: someone paid for a domain at the company's name and has not built the site. Select them with `output: newDomain`. They were 14 out of 160 in our sample, so ask for a wider period to get many of them.
**Are there phone numbers and emails?** Not for companies without a website: the registers do not publish any, and a company that is a few days old has not left them anywhere else. You get the name, the activity and the registered office: enough to send a letter, to visit, or to look the business up. With `output: all`, companies that do have a website come with the emails and phones found on it.
**Why companies only?** Sole traders are private persons, and their registered address is usually their home. This Actor reads legal entities only: in France the notices of sole traders are never even read, in the US the columns that hold names of persons (registered agents, organizers) are never requested, and no director name is returned for any country. When a registered address carries a "care of" mention ("C/O …", "chez …", "Attn …"), the mention is removed with the name that follows it.
**Which US states are covered?** New York, Texas, Colorado, Connecticut and Oregon: five states that publish their new companies as open data. Connecticut gives the activity and the business address; Colorado the address of the principal office; Oregon the principal place of business, in a list the state updates once a week; Texas the new LLCs and corporations with their mailing address, about ten days after the charter date (set `registeredInLastDays` to 21 or more to get the Texan and the latest Oregon companies); New York the county, and the address only when the company itself receives its legal mail there (otherwise the published address is that of a registered agent or of a person, and it is left out). Companies formed elsewhere that merely register in one of these states are skipped: they are not new.
**How fresh is the data?** UK companies appear on the day they are incorporated. US companies appear when the state refreshes its open data, usually the next working day. French companies appear when their notice is published in the official gazette: 3 days after the registration for most of them, a week at most in our sample.
**Which companies are skipped?** Holding companies, companies that only own property (French SCI, UK property letting SIC codes, US names such as "Holdings" or "Properties") and dormant companies. Turn the option off to get them too.
**Can I use these leads for prospecting?** The data comes from public registers that allow reuse. You remain responsible for the rules that apply to your outreach (in the UK the Corporate Telephone Preference Service and PECR, in France the rules on B2B prospecting, in the US CAN-SPAM and the Do Not Call rules). A small company is often registered at its founder's home: treat these addresses with the care that calls for.
**Is this an official product?** No. It is an independent tool that reads public registers, and it is not affiliated with Companies House, with the French administration or with any US state. Sources: Companies House (Open Government Licence v3.0); BODACC, DILA (Licence Ouverte 2.0); open data portals of New York State (Department of State), Colorado (Secretary of State), Connecticut (Secretary of the State), Oregon (Secretary of State) and Texas (Comptroller of Public Accounts, Active Franchise Taxpayers); daily lists of created .fr domain names, Afnic (open data).
### 🔌 API, AI agents and integrations
- **API**: one call runs the Actor and returns the results, `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/euroscrape~no-website-leads/run-sync-get-dataset-items` (see the API tab for Python, JavaScript and cURL).
- **AI agents (MCP)**: add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=euroscrape/no-website-leads` to Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client, and the Actor becomes a tool your agent can call.
- **No-code automation**: start runs and pass the results on with Apify's integrations for n8n, Make and Zapier, or with a webhook when a run ends.
- **Exports**: every result set downloads as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, and can be sent to Google Sheets.
# Actor input Schema
## `countries` (type: `array`):
Registers to read. With several, leads are taken from each country in turn. United States: five states publish their new companies as open data (New York, Texas, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon).
## `registeredInLastDays` (type: `integer`):
UK and US: registration date. France: date of the official notice, published a few days after the registration. The most recent companies come first.
## `registeredFrom` (type: `string`):
Optional exact start date (YYYY-MM-DD). Overrides the number of days.
## `registeredTo` (type: `string`):
Optional end date (YYYY-MM-DD). Default: today.
## `activityKeywords` (type: `array`):
Keep companies whose activity or name contains one of these, e.g. "restaurant", "plumbing", "coiffure", "beauty salon". Several words in one entry must all be present. UK activities are the official SIC descriptions (in English); French activities are written in French; in the US only Connecticut publishes an activity, so the name is what counts for New York, Colorado, Texas and Oregon. Leave empty for every activity.
## `ukLocations` (type: `array`):
Registered office contains one of these, e.g. "Leeds", "Manchester", "SW1". Leave empty for the whole UK.
## `ukSicCodes` (type: `array`):
Optional 5-digit UK SIC 2007 codes, e.g. 56101 (restaurants), 96020 (hairdressing), 43220 (plumbing).
## `frDepartments` (type: `array`):
Department numbers, e.g. "75", "69", "13", "2A". Leave empty for all of France.
## `usStates` (type: `array`):
States to read. Leave empty for the five of them. Texas publishes a new company about ten days after its charter date, and Oregon updates its list once a week: set "Registered in the last N days" to 21 or more to get all of them.
## `usLocations` (type: `array`):
City names, e.g. "Denver", "Hartford", "Boulder". For New York, county names work too: "Kings" (Brooklyn), "Queens", "Albany". Leave empty for the whole state.
## `excludeHoldingsAndPropertyCompanies` (type: `boolean`):
Holding companies, property-holding companies (SCI in France) and dormant shells never need a website: they are skipped and not charged.
## `output` (type: `string`):
"Without a website" returns every company with no site of its own, and tells whether a domain name at its name exists and when it was created. "Domain just bought" keeps only the companies whose domain was created around their registration and shows no site yet: they are about to need one. "All" also returns the companies that already have a website, with emails and phones found on it.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
The run stops when this many leads are saved.
## `monitorName` (type: `string`):
Name this search and schedule the Actor daily: each run then returns only companies that were not delivered before. A day with nothing new costs the run start only.
