## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU TED Tenders: public procurement notices

This actor searches TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), the online edition of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, where public buyers in the EU publish their tenders and contract awards. You get one clean row per notice. No key or account is needed.

### What you can search

Type a few keywords and TED matches them against the full text of each notice. You can narrow the search to buyers in certain countries, using three letter codes like DEU, FRA or ITA, and to CPV codes, such as `72000000` for IT services or `45000000` for construction work. Both filters work with or without keywords.

Dates are publication dates written as YYYY-MM-DD. Leave them empty and you get the last 30 days. Older notices come back too: turn off "Active notices only" and set the dates you want.

If you already know TED's expert search syntax, put a query in "TED expert query". It replaces the keyword, country, CPV and date filters, so the query you write is the query TED runs. For example, `notice-type=can-standard AND buyer-country=FRA SORT BY publication-date DESC` lists French contract award notices, newest first.

Titles, descriptions and links come in the language you choose, English by default. Set `deu`, `fra` or any other three letter code. When a notice has no text in that language, you get the first language it has.

### What each row holds

- `noticeId`, the TED publication number, and `url` and `pdfUrl` for the notice page and its PDF
- `title`, `buyer`, `country` and `description`
- `postedDate`, and `deadline` for tenders where TED gives a receipt deadline
- `noticeType`, `formType`, `procedureType` and `contractNature`
- `cpvCodes`
- `estimatedValue` with `estimatedValueCurrency` when the buyer published an estimate
- `awardValue` with `awardValueCurrency` on award notices
- `placeOfPerformance` as NUTS and country codes
- `languages`, the official languages of the notice

The dataset's Overview view shows the most useful of these as a table. Contact names, email addresses and phone numbers are never requested from TED, so no row carries them.

### Errors

A problem comes back as a single row with `query` and `error`, and the run still finishes. You'll see one when TED rejects an expert query (TED's own message is included, down to the line and column), when a date isn't written as YYYY-MM-DD, and when nothing matches.

### Pricing

Pay per event. Each notice returned is one `notice-returned` event, and error rows are free. Set a maximum charge for the run and the actor checks what's left before it asks TED for each page of results. Once the limit is reached it stops cleanly and doesn't fetch notices it can't return.

### Source and reuse

The data comes from the TED Search API run by the Publications Office of the European Union. TED's legal notice says that, unless otherwise noted, the procurement notices it publishes can be freely reused for commercial or non commercial purposes: https://ted.europa.eu/en/legal-notice. This actor isn't affiliated with the Publications Office of the European Union.

### Support

## `cpvCodes` (type: `array`):

Common Procurement Vocabulary codes, such as 72000000 for IT services.

## `postedFrom` (type: `string`):

Earliest publication date, as YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to 30 days before the end date.

## `postedTo` (type: `string`):

Latest publication date, as YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today.

Keep only notices TED lists as active.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Most notices to return in one run.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Three letter code for titles, descriptions and links, such as eng, deu or fra. When a notice has no text in it, the first available language is used.

## `expertQuery` (type: `string`):

Optional. A query in TED's expert search syntax. It replaces the keywords, countries, CPV codes and dates.
