## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Trustpilot Reviews Scraper

Get Trustpilot reviews and company ratings for any business as clean JSON, CSV or Excel. Filter by star rating, language and date. No login, no browser extension, no API key.

### What can you use it for?

- **Customer sentiment and pain-point research**: pull every 1- and 2-star review of your company or a competitor and see what people complain about.
- **Competitor benchmarking**: compare TrustScore, star distribution, review volume and how fast companies reply to negative reviews.
- **Reputation monitoring**: run it daily or weekly with "Only reviews published after = 7 days" and send new reviews to Slack, Sheets or your CRM.
- **Customer-service QA**: export reviews together with the company's reply text and reply date.
- **Feed AI agents and LLM pipelines**: call the Actor from Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) and let the model summarize themes, classify complaints or draft replies.
- **Market research and lead qualification** for agencies selling review-management or CX services.

2. Optionally set filters: star ratings, language, date cutoff, verified only, with reply only, and how many reviews you want.
3. Click **Start** and download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel, or read them through the API. The **Reviews** and **Companies** tabs show each record type separately.

### Pricing

**$0.45 per 1,000 reviews.** You pay only for reviews you get. Company summary records are free, and there is no start fee. Set a maximum charge per run in the run options if you want a hard spending cap; the scraper stops as soon as it is reached.

### How many reviews per company?

Trustpilot shows visitors who are not logged in only the first 10 pages of any review listing. This scraper browses the same public pages, so it returns **up to about 200 reviews per company and filter combination** (the 200 most recent by default). To cover more, run it again with different star or language filters, for example once for 1-star and once for 5-star reviews. For monitoring, a date cutoff such as "7 days" usually stays well within the limit.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape Trustpilot?**
This Actor collects only publicly visible review data that anyone can see without logging in. It does not collect emails or phone numbers. Reviewer names are public display names; handle them according to GDPR and your local laws, and check Trustpilot's terms for your use case.

**Do I need a Trustpilot account or API key?**
No.

**Why does it use a proxy and a browser?**
Trustpilot is protected by AWS WAF, which blocks plain HTTP clients. The scraper opens a headless browser once to pass the check, then reads Trustpilot's JSON data directly, which is fast and cheap. Apify Proxy is on by default. If a run gets blocked, switch the proxy group to **RESIDENTIAL**.

**Can I scrape Trustpilot country sites like de.trustpilot.com?**
Yes. Paste any Trustpilot link. Reviews are the same across country sites; use the **Review language** filter to choose the language.

**How fast is it?**
Each request returns 20 reviews, so 200 reviews from one company take about 10 requests and a few seconds after the browser check.

**Something broke or a field is missing?**
Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab and we will fix it quickly.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Company website domains (e.g. `www.amazon.com`, `bol.com`), website URLs, or Trustpilot review page URLs (e.g. `https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.amazon.com`). One company per line.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of reviews to scrape across all companies. Company summary records are not counted.

## `maxReviewsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of reviews per company. Use 0 for no extra limit. Trustpilot shows at most 200 reviews (10 pages) per company and filter combination to visitors who are not logged in, so a run never returns more than 200 per company.

## `stars` (type: `array`):

Only scrape reviews with these star ratings. Leave empty for all ratings.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter ISO language code of the reviews (e.g. `en`, `de`, `fr`), or `all` for every language.

## `reviewsNewerThan` (type: `string`):

Date cutoff. Absolute (`2025-01-31`) or relative (`30 days`, `6 months`, `1 year`). Leave empty for no cutoff. Works best with sort = newest first, which stops paging as soon as the cutoff is reached.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order in which reviews are collected.

## `verifiedOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only scrape reviews labelled as verified by Trustpilot.

## `withRepliesOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only scrape reviews the company has replied to.

## `includeCompanySummary` (type: `boolean`):

Add one free record per company with TrustScore, total reviews, star distribution, categories and reply statistics (`recordType` = `company`).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Trustpilot is protected by AWS WAF. Apify Proxy is recommended; switch to the RESIDENTIAL group if runs get blocked.
