## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact Finder: Emails, Phones, Socials + Email Verification

**Give it a list of websites (or the dataset from your Google Maps scrape) and get back emails, phone numbers and social links for each one. Every email is checked for deliverability without sending mail. $2 per 1,000 websites with contacts found. Sites with nothing found are free.**

Scraping Google Maps gives you business names and websites, but rarely an email. This Actor visits each website, reads the home page and the contact page, and returns the contacts you need for outreach, with a verdict on each email so you don't burn your sender reputation on dead addresses.

### How to use it

**Option 1: paste websites.** Add domains or URLs to *Websites*, one per line.

**Option 2: enrich a Google Maps scrape.** Run any Google Maps scraper, copy the run's **Dataset ID** (Storage tab), and paste it into *Dataset ID*. Rows with a `website` field are scanned, and the business name, phone, address and category from your scrape are carried into the output, so you get one clean lead list.

Works with any dataset that has a `website`, `url` or `domain` field.

### What you get

One item per website:

| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| `website` | The site that was scanned |
| `bestEmail` | The email to use first: deliverable, personal addresses ahead of info@ / sales@ |
| `emails[]` | Up to 3 emails, each with `deliverable` (likely / risky / undeliverable), `score` 0 to 100, `role` and `freeProvider` flags |
| `phones[]` | Up to 5 phone numbers found on the site |
| `socials` | Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp links |
| `pagesVisited[]` | Which pages were read |
| `title`, `phone`, `address`, `categoryName`, ... | Carried through from your dataset row |
| `found`, `error` | Whether anything was found, and why a site couldn't be read |

```json
{
  "website": "https://himalayancafe.com/",
  "title": "Himalayan Cafe",
  "bestEmail": "owner@himalayancafe.com",
  "emails": [
    { "email": "owner@himalayancafe.com", "deliverable": "likely", "score": 90, "role": false, "freeProvider": false },
    { "email": "info@himalayancafe.com", "deliverable": "likely", "score": 70, "role": true, "freeProvider": false }
  ],
  "phones": ["+977 1-4000000"],
  "socials": { "instagram": "https://instagram.com/himalayancafe", "facebook": "https://facebook.com/himalayancafe" },
  "found": true
}
```

### How the email check works

No email is sent and no SMTP probe is made. Each address is checked for valid syntax, a mail server (MX) on its domain, disposable domains (a list of 214,000), role accounts (info@, sales@, noreply@), free providers (Gmail, Outlook, ...), common typos, and the domain's SPF and DMARC setup. These signals add up to a 0 to 100 score and a likely / risky / undeliverable verdict.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.002 per website where at least one email or phone was found**, so $2 per 1,000. You aren't charged for sites that don't load, block the request, or have no contacts.

### Limits

- Reads plain HTML (no JavaScript rendering). Sites that only show contacts after scripts run, or behind a form, will return nothing, and you won't be charged.
- Reads the home page plus one contact page per site.
- Up to 10,000 websites per run.

### Also from Exepal

The same email check is available per call to AI agents at `https://api.exepal.com/v1/email`, and over MCP at `https://api.exepal.com/mcp` with 20 free calls a day. See [exepal.com/docs](https://exepal.com/docs).

# Actor input Schema

## `websites` (type: `array`):

Sites to scan, one per line. Bare domains (example.com) or full URLs. Duplicates (including www.) are removed.

## `datasetId` (type: `string`):

The dataset of a Google Maps scraper run (or any dataset with a `website`, `url` or `domain` field). Business name, phone, address and category are carried into the output.

## `maxSites` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many unique websites.

## `onlyWithEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Skip sites where no email was found. (You are never charged for those either way.)
