Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Apps Scraper (Fast, No Browser)

**Search rankings**, **app details** and **reviews** from Google Play, for any country and language, without a browser.

### What it collects

- **Search**: the apps Google Play shows for a keyword, in order, with each app's **position**. Track keyword rankings (ASO) and see who you compete with.
- **App details**: title, developer, category, rating, number of ratings and reviews, installs, price, in-app purchases, ads, content rating, release date, last update, version and description.
- **Reviews**: rating, text, date, helpful votes, app version and the developer's reply. **Nothing about the reviewer**: no name, photo or ID.

### Why this Actor

- **Fast and cheap to run.** Plain web requests instead of a browser.
- **Patient with rate limits.** Requests are spaced out, and when Google Play says no the Actor switches to a fresh IP and backs off before trying again. If several requests in a row are refused, the run stops early instead of burning time.
- **One bad input doesn't stop the run.** An app that doesn't exist, or a search with no results, is recorded as a row that explains what happened, and the run carries on.
- **Safe restarts.** If the platform moves your run to another server, it resumes where it stopped, without duplicate rows.
- **Familiar input.** It uses the same field names as the most used Google Play Actor: `mode`, `searchTerms`, `appIds`, `maxResults`, `country`, `language`, `reviewSort` and `reviewScore`.

### Use cases

- **ASO keyword tracking**: see where your app and your competitors rank for the keywords that matter, country by country.
- **Competitor monitoring**: follow the installs, ratings, prices and update dates of any app.
- **Review analysis**: collect reviews for sentiment, bug reports and feature requests, without personal data.
- **Market research**: compare categories, prices and in-app purchase models across countries.

### How much does it cost?

**The Actor is free during launch.** You only pay Apify for the platform usage of your runs, and Apify's free plan includes $5 of usage every month, with no credit card.

In our test runs with the default datacenter proxy, platform usage came to about $0.01 per 1,000 search results or reviews, and about $0.20 per 1,000 app details (their pages are larger). The free plan therefore covers hundreds of thousands of reviews, or tens of thousands of app details, a month.

### Good to know

- A search returns the apps Google Play shows on its results page, usually about 30.
- Rankings, prices and availability depend on the `country`; titles, descriptions and reviews on the `language`.
- `installs` is Google's rounded label; `realInstalls` is the more precise figure Google also publishes.
- Apps whose version "varies with device" have no single `version`.
- An app that is not available in the chosen country is reported as a free row, not charged.

### FAQ

**Does it collect reviewer names or photos?** No, by design: only the review itself and the developer's reply.

**How many reviews can I get?** As many as Google Play shows for the app, up to 10,000 per app in one run (`maxResults`).

**Which countries and languages?** Any Google Play country (two-letter code such as `us` or `br`) and language (such as `en` or `pt-BR`).

**Does it support top charts?** Not yet. If you need them, open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab.

**Do I need a Google account?** No.

**Can AI agents use it?** Yes, through the Apify MCP server.

**Is it legal to collect this data?** The Actor collects public information shown on play.google.com, and reviews without anything about their authors. Check the terms that apply to your use case.

### Use it from your code or AI agent

Run it through the Apify API, on a schedule to track rankings and ratings over time, or from AI agents through the Apify MCP server, where it appears as a tool your agent can call.

This Actor collects public information shown on play.google.com. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC.
