## Changelog

### 0.2 update (2026-10-02)

- If Google Trends changes the format of its answers, the run now says so plainly ("Google Trends changed the format of its …") instead of reporting "nothing found", and stops after three inputs in a row it cannot read. Nothing is charged for those inputs.

All notable changes to this Actor are listed here. The format follows [Keep a Changelog](https://keepachangelog.com/en/1.1.0/).

### \[0.2] - 2026-09-29

#### Added

- `comparisons` input: each line is one comparison of up to 5 comma-separated terms, with no extra switch to set.
- Google topics: search for a Knowledge Graph topic id such as `/m/0dr90d`, and get its readable name in `termLabels` (for example `"Tesla (Automotive company)"`). Malformed topic ids are refused before any request.
- `spreadsheetId` input: load search terms from the first column of a public Google Sheet, like the most popular Google Trends scraper does.
- `regionResolution` input: interest by region per US metro area (`DMA`), per city (`CITY`) or per subregion (`REGION`). Combinations Google cannot answer are refused with a clear message.
- `averages`: Google's average interest per term, for comparisons.
- A plain `value` next to `values` in interest over time and interest by region when a single term is queried, so tables and spreadsheets need no nested columns.
- `coordinates` for cities, whose names repeat and which have no region code.
- Table views for interest over time and interest by region, one row per period or place, linked from the run's output.
- Progress in the run's status line, for example "12 of 40 search terms done (2 without data)".

#### Changed

- New connections warm up with a request of under 1 KB instead of downloading the 700 KB Google Trends home page, which cuts proxy traffic.
- Interest over time is always sorted oldest first.
- The final status message reads naturally in every case and leaves out zero counts.
- Maximum memory lowered to 1 GB; runs use about 60 MB.

### \[0.1] - 2026-09-27

#### Added

- Initial release: interest over time, interest by region, related queries and related topics for search terms, comparisons of up to 5 terms and Google Trends URLs, with the input field names of the most popular Google Trends scraper.
