## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Chiletrabajos Scraper - Chile Job Listings

Collect job ads from **chiletrabajos.cl**, one of Chile's oldest and busiest job boards (about 30,000 live listings). Search by keyword, city, category, job type and publication date, or point the Actor at any listing page of the site. Output is clean JSON, CSV or Excel, ready for labour-market analysis, job aggregators, recruiting-agency lead lists and hiring-signal monitoring.

Only company and listing data is collected. Recruiter contact details (emails, phone numbers) are never returned: the site hides them behind a login, and any that appear inside free-text descriptions are scrubbed.

### What you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `id`, `url` | Job id and public URL |
| `title`, `titleTruncated` | Job title (search cards cut long titles with "..."; turn on job details for the full title) |
| `company`, `companyLogo` | Employer name and logo (null for confidential ads) |
| `city`, `region` | City and Chilean region (e.g. Santiago / Metropolitana de Santiago) |
| `category`, `jobType` | Site category and Full-time / Part-time (category is known from the filter, or from job details) |
| `publishedAt`, `publishedAtTime`, `expiresAt` | Publication date, exact timestamp and expiry date (the last two with job details) |
| `descriptionSnippet`, `description` | Snippet from the search card, full description with job details |
| `benefits` | Employer perks advertised on the card (health cover, remote work, insurance...) |
| `tags`, `views`, `applicants` | Keywords, ad views and number of interested applicants (job details) |
| `featured`, `inclusionFriendly` | Promoted ad; eligible under Chile's Ley de Inclusion |
| `searchTerm`, `detailsFetched`, `scrapedAt` | Run metadata |

### Input examples

Latest developer jobs in Santiago and Concepcion:

```json
{ "searchQueries": ["desarrollador", "analista de datos"], "locations": ["Santiago", "Concepción"], "publishedWithin": "lastWeek", "maxItems": 200 }
```

Every IT job of the last month with full descriptions:

```json
{ "categories": ["informatica-telecomunicaciones"], "publishedWithin": "lastMonth", "includeDetails": true, "maxItems": 1000 }
```

A listing page you found on the site:

```json
{ "startUrls": ["https://www.chiletrabajos.cl/ciudad/temuco.html"], "maxItems": 300 }
```

Leave `searchQueries`, `locations` and `categories` empty to read the whole site, newest first.

### Output example

```json
{
  "id": "3343912",
  "url": "https://www.chiletrabajos.cl/trabajo/operador-pluma-3343912",
  "title": "Operador pluma",
  "company": "Operaciones Logísticas",
  "city": "Puerto Montt",
  "region": "Los Lagos",
  "category": "Logística / Distribución",
  "jobType": "Full-time",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-13",
  "expiresAt": "2026-12-27",
  "tags": ["pluma", "operador"],
  "views": 8684,
  "applicants": 81,
  "detailsFetched": true
}
```

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| Job scraped (`job-result`) | **US$1.50 per 1,000** | every job saved |
| Job details (`job-details`) | US$1.50 per 1,000 | only with "Fetch full job details" on |

A small run-start fee also applies. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### FAQ

**Do I need a proxy?** The Actor starts with Apify datacenter proxy and switches to a Chilean residential proxy automatically if the site blocks it. Locally it runs without a proxy.

**How many jobs can I get?** The site lists about 1,000 pages of 30 jobs for an unfiltered search. Use filters (city, category, date) to slice the catalogue and run daily with `publishedWithin: "today"` for incremental feeds.

**Are duplicate jobs possible?** No. Ads are de-duplicated by id across all searches in a run.

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads public pages at a polite rate, honours the site's robots.txt and returns no personal data.

### Use cases

Labour-market and salary-trend research, job aggregators, recruitment-agency prospecting (who is hiring, how often, where), hiring-signal feeds for sales teams, HR benchmarking of advertised benefits, regional employment dashboards.

### En español
