## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## G2 Reviews Scraper

Get the latest reviews of any software product on G2, as clean structured data, with no login and no browser.

Enter product names, slugs or G2 links and the Actor returns the most recent reviews of each product: star rating, title, what the reviewer likes best, dislikes, the problems the product solves, recommendations when present, reviewer role, industry and company size band, and the publish date.

### Important scope note

G2 publishes only the **25 most recent reviews per product** through its public feed. The Actor cannot page back through a product's whole history. That makes it ideal for:

- monitoring new reviews of your own product and your competitors on a schedule (use `reviewsNewerThan`),
- quick competitor snapshots across dozens of products,
- feeding alerts, dashboards and sentiment pipelines with fresh reviews.

If you need the full historical archive of a product, this is not the right tool.

### Input

```json
{
  "products": ["slack", "https://www.g2.com/products/notion/reviews", "HubSpot Sales Hub"],
  "maxReviewsPerProduct": 25,
  "maxItems": 100,
  "ratings": ["1", "2"],
  "reviewsNewerThan": "2026-10-01"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `products` | G2 URLs, slugs (`notion`) or names (`HubSpot Sales Hub`) |
| `maxReviewsPerProduct` | 1 to 25 |
| `maxItems` | Hard cap for the whole run |
| `ratings` | Keep only these star ratings (4.5 counts as 5) |
| `reviewsNewerThan` | `YYYY-MM-DD` cut-off |

Renamed products are followed automatically. Unknown products are reported in the run summary without stopping the run.

### Output example

```json
{
  "id": "13768494",
  "url": "https://www.g2.com/products/jira/reviews/jira-review-13768494",
  "productSlug": "jira",
  "productName": "Jira",
  "title": "Flexible Project Tracking with Clear Visibility",
  "rating": 5,
  "reviewerRole": "G2 User",
  "companySize": "1,001-5,000 employees",
  "likes": "...",
  "dislikes": "...",
  "problemsSolved": "...",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-13T09:39:43.000Z"
}
```

Reviewer names are never collected or output.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Review scraped | US$2.00 per 1,000 |

The run stops exactly at `maxItems` or at your spending limit.

### FAQ

**Does it need a G2 account or API key?** No.

**Why only 25 reviews per product?** That is all G2 exposes to non-browser clients. Schedule the Actor daily and keep the history yourself.

**Can I scrape categories or product details?** Not with this Actor; G2 protects those pages.

# Actor input Schema

## `products` (type: `array`):

G2 product URLs (https://www.g2.com/products/notion/reviews), slugs (notion) or product names (HubSpot Sales Hub).

## `maxReviewsPerProduct` (type: `integer`):

G2's public feed holds the 25 most recent reviews of each product, so 25 is the maximum.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Hard limit on the number of reviews of the whole run.

## `reviewsNewerThan` (type: `string`):

Date YYYY-MM-DD. Only reviews published on or after this date.

## `ratings` (type: `array`):

Only reviews with these star ratings (a 4.5 review counts as 5 stars). Empty = all.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Datacenter proxy by default; the Actor automatically falls back to residential IPs if G2 blocks the requests.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "products": [
    "slack",
    "notion"
  ],
  "maxReviewsPerProduct": 25,
  "maxItems": 50,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `reviews` (type: `string`):

All reviews collected during the run
