## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Redfin Scraper - homes for sale, sold homes and rentals

Collect Redfin listings in bulk without logging in: **homes for sale**, **recently sold homes** and **rentals**, for any US city, county, neighborhood or ZIP code. One request returns up to 350 properties, so large searches finish in seconds.

### What you get

For every property: IDs (`propertyId`, `listingId`, MLS id), Redfin URL, address, city, state, ZIP, neighborhood, latitude / longitude, price, price per sqft, beds, baths, living area, lot size, year built, stories, property type, status, days on market, HOA fee, sold date and price, new-construction flag, listing brokerage (when Redfin exposes it), description, feature tags, open-house times and photo count. Rentals add property name, rent range, bed/bath/sqft ranges, leasing-office phone, available units and listing source.

### How to use

1. Choose **What to collect** (for sale / sold / rent).
2. Add **Locations** (`Austin, TX`, `Travis County, TX`, `78701`) and/or **Redfin URLs** (a city, county, neighborhood or ZIP page).
3. Optionally set filters (price, beds, baths, sqft, year built, property types, days on market, HOA).
4. Set **Maximum results** and run.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "mode": "forSale",
  "locations": ["Austin, TX", "78701"],
  "minBeds": 3,
  "maxPrice": 900000,
  "propertyTypes": ["house", "townhouse"],
  "maxItems": 500
}
```

Recently sold homes in Seattle:

```json
{ "mode": "sold", "soldWithinDays": 30, "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.redfin.com/city/16163/WA/Seattle" }], "maxItems": 1000 }
```

#### Example output (for sale)

```json
{
  "mode": "forSale",
  "propertyId": 31315348,
  "listingId": 224004038,
  "url": "https://www.redfin.com/TX/Austin/5601-Barker-Ridge-Dr-78759/home/31315348",
  "address": "5601 Barker Ridge Dr",
  "city": "Austin", "state": "TX", "zip": "78759",
  "latitude": 30.4077601, "longitude": -97.7558341,
  "price": 899000, "pricePerSqft": 358,
  "beds": 4, "baths": 2.5, "sqft": 2512, "lotSizeSqft": 10319, "yearBuilt": 1985,
  "propertyType": "House", "status": "Active", "daysOnMarket": 1,
  "tags": ["PRIVATE POOL", "REMODELED KITCHEN"],
  "searchLocation": "Austin, TX"
}
```

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| `property-result` | **US$0.60 per 1,000** | each property saved |
| `property-details` | US$0.50 per 1,000 | optional add-on: Redfin Estimate (+ brokerage when available), only when found |

Plus the standard Apify actor-start event. You can cap spend with the run's maximum cost; the actor stops cleanly at the limit.

### FAQ

**Do I need a proxy?** The default Apify proxy is used; if Redfin blocks it the actor automatically switches to US residential IPs.

**How many results can I get per search?** Paging goes through the whole region (several thousand homes in big cities). Use filters or several locations for even larger jobs.

**Why is the sold price empty?** Some states (for example Texas) do not disclose sale prices; Redfin hides them and so does this actor (the sold date is still returned).

**Are agent names or emails collected?** No. Only property data and business information (listing brokerage, leasing-office phone for rentals).

**What about rentals?** Redfin lists rentals mostly as buildings: you get the rent range, bed/bath ranges and the leasing office phone for each building.

**Use cases:** market analysis and comps, investor deal sourcing, lead lists of listings with long time on market, price monitoring, building real-estate datasets.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many properties in total (all locations together).

## `soldWithinDays` (type: `string`):

Only for mode "Recently sold homes". Sold-price data is hidden by the MLS in non-disclosure states (e.g. Texas), where the sold price comes back empty.

## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):

Minimum price in USD (monthly rent for rentals). Leave empty for no minimum.

## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):

Maximum price in USD (monthly rent for rentals). Leave empty for no maximum.

## `minBeds` (type: `integer`):

Minimum number of bedrooms.

## `minBaths` (type: `integer`):

## `propertyTypes` (type: `array`):

Leave empty for all types. Not used for rentals.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Redfin is reachable from Apify datacenter IPs in most cases; the actor switches to US residential automatically if it gets blocked.
