## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Woolworths Australia Scraper — Products, Prices & Specials

Collect product data from **woolworths.com.au** without a browser and without logging in: search by keyword, browse any category, list every current special, or fetch single products by URL or stockcode.

**From US$0.80 per 1,000 products.** Pay only for products saved to the dataset.

### What you get

For every product: stockcode, name, brand, pack size, current price, was price, savings, unit price (per 100 g / 1 L ...), special flag and promotion text (Half Price, 20% Off, 2 for $10.00...), availability, stock flag, department / category / subcategory path, barcode (GTIN), image, product URL, description, ingredients, country of origin and health star rating when Woolworths publishes them.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | One search per keyword (about 2,400 results deep per keyword). |
| `categories` | Names, slugs or browse URLs, e.g. `dairy-eggs-fridge/milk`. Subcategories are included. |
| `productUrls` | Product URLs or plain stockcodes. |
| `onlySpecials` | Only products on special. With nothing else filled in, collects all current specials. |
| `excludeUnavailable` | Hide products that cannot be bought. |
| `sortBy` | Relevance, price, name or unit price. |
| `maxItems` / `maxItemsPerQuery` | Overall and per-query limits (exact). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Datacenter by default; switches to a residential Australian IP automatically if Woolworths blocks it. |

Example:

```json
{ "searchTerms": ["milk", "bread"], "onlySpecials": true, "maxItems": 200 }
```

### Output example

```json
```

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Product scraped (`product-result`) | US$0.0008 (US$0.80 per 1,000) |

Plus the standard Apify actor-start charge. Runs are cheap: about 500 products in 30–40 seconds.

### FAQ

**Which prices are returned?** Woolworths' national online prices (the same ones shown to a visitor who has not chosen a store).

**Does it need a proxy?** An Australian residential IP is the most reliable. The actor starts on the default datacenter proxy and upgrades itself if it is blocked.

**How many products per keyword?** Around 2,400 (Woolworths' own search depth). Use several keywords or categories for more; duplicates are removed by stockcode.

**Is any personal data collected?** No. Only public product and price information.

### Use cases

Price monitoring and comparison, specials alerts, catalogue and barcode enrichment, market research, grocery apps.

# Actor input Schema

## `categories` (type: `array`):

## `productUrls` (type: `array`):

Product page URLs (…/shop/productdetails/204746/…) or plain stockcodes to fetch directly.

## `onlySpecials` (type: `boolean`):

With keywords or categories: only specials. With nothing else filled in: collect all current specials across the grocery departments.

Skip products that are out of range or unavailable.

Result ordering for searches and categories.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
