## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Businesses Without a Website

Organisations on **official UK registers that list no website** — the prospect list for web
agencies, freelancers and SaaS site builders. Three registers, one row shape, filter by sector
and area:

| Sector | Register | Coverage | Area filters |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `care` | CQC care directory (weekly) | every regulated care location in England: care homes, GPs, dentists, homecare, hospices | region, local authority, outward code |
| `charity` | Charity Commission register (daily) | registered charities in England & Wales; default income ≥ £25,000 so the list is organisations that can afford a site | outward code |
| `school` | DfE Get Information About Schools (daily) | open schools, academies, colleges and nurseries in England | region, local authority, outward code |

Each row: `sector`, `name`, `organisation_type`, `address`, `postcode`, `outward_code`,
`local_authority`, `region`, `size_hint` (pupils / income / provider), `registered_since`,
`source_dataset`, `source_id` and a `source_url` back to the official register entry.

### What you get, what you don't

Organisation-level data only. The registers' named contacts, phone numbers and email addresses
are never ingested by the API behind this actor (Blind Mode), so nothing here is personal data.
Use the row to research the organisation and contact it through its published channels. Cold
outreach to UK organisations is your responsibility under PECR/UK GDPR.

### Pricing

Pay per result. Set a maximum total charge on the run; the actor stops cleanly when it is
reached. The same data is available as an API and MCP server at https://gankdat.com.

### Sources and licences

CQC (OGL v3), Charity Commission (OGL v3), Department for Education GIAS (OGL v3). Refreshed
daily; a change feed of additions and removals is available on gankdat.com.

# Actor input Schema

## `sectors` (type: `array`):

Which registers to draw from. care = CQC-regulated care locations (care homes, GPs, dentists, homecare); charity = Charity Commission register (England & Wales); school = DfE register of schools, academies, colleges and nurseries (England).

## `region` (type: `string`):

Government Office Region, e.g. London, South East, North West (care and school sectors; charities carry no region).

## `local_authority` (type: `string`):

e.g. Leeds, Camden, Kent (care and school sectors; charities carry no local authority).

## `outward_code` (type: `string`):

First half of the postcode, e.g. LS1, SW1A, M — matched as a prefix-free substring, so 'LS' covers all Leeds outward codes.

## `charity_income_min` (type: `integer`):

Charities only: skip those whose latest reported income is below this (many tiny charities have no site by choice). Default 25000.

## `care_service_types` (type: `string`):

Care sector only: e.g. Care home, Nursing home, Homecare, Dentist, GP, Hospital.

## `school_phase` (type: `string`):

School sector only: Primary, Secondary, Nursery, 16 plus, All-through.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many records in total across the selected sectors (you are charged per result).

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One item per record, as JSON (also downloadable as CSV/Excel from the dataset).
# API
You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.
## JavaScript example
```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("faceless-api/uk-no-website-leads").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
