## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Alibaba & 1688 Supplier Risk Check

**Alibaba & 1688 Supplier Risk Check** screens every supplier in your **1688, Alibaba, Taobao, Tmall or Made-in-China** scraper results against the lists that stop shipments: the **UFLPA forced-labour Entity List**, the **US Entity List** and other export controls, and **EU, UN, UK and US sanctions**. Point it at a dataset, get one row per unique supplier with a verdict: **pass**, **review** or **block_review**.

Built for product researchers, dropshippers, Amazon FBA sellers, sourcing agents and anyone who scrapes Chinese marketplaces before they buy.

### How to use it

1. Run your favourite 1688, Alibaba, Taobao or Made-in-China scraper on Apify.
2. Copy its **dataset ID** (Storage, Datasets) into the **Dataset ID** field. Supplier names are found automatically in fields like supplierName, companyName, shopName, sellerName and sellerNick.
3. Click **Start**. Each unique supplier is checked once and gets a verdict.

Or paste supplier names (with the USCC code from the business licence, if you have it) into **Or: suppliers**.

Scraping every week? Call this actor from your own code or workflow after each scrape, with the new dataset ID (example below).

### Output

| Supplier | Verdict | Flags |
|---|---|---|
| Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. | block_review | possible match on BIS Entity List (score 100) |
| Alibaba (China) Co., Ltd. | pass | |

With a USCC code the row also shows whether the code is valid and the province (Xinjiang registrations are flagged).

### How much does it cost?

**$0.01 per unique supplier.** Duplicates in your dataset are checked once and failed lookups are free. A scrape of 2,000 products from 300 shops costs $3.

### Use it from code and AI agents

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("factline/alibaba-1688-supplier-risk-check").call(run_input={"datasetId": "<YOUR_SCRAPER_DATASET_ID>"})
for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(row)
```

AI agents can call it through the Apify MCP server, and Make, Zapier and n8n through their Apify modules.

### FAQ

**Do you scrape Alibaba or 1688?** No. You bring the rows; this actor only screens them.

**Why do Taobao sellers rarely match?** Tmall and 1688 shops are companies. Taobao and Xianyu sellers are often individuals, so they are seldom on a company list.

**Is a pass a clearance?** No. Confirm possible matches against the official list. A clean result does not cover the supplier's own suppliers.

**Want register checks too?** Add the USCC per supplier, or use *Chinese Supplier Check* for a deeper check of a shortlist.
