## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk Sanctions & PEP Screening (EU, UN, UK, OFAC) from CSV

Screen a whole list of people or companies against the main sanctions lists and the PEP list in one run. Paste names or point to a CSV file; get one row per name with a verdict and match scores, ready to export. Built on [Factline](https://factline.dev).

### Lists

- **Sanctions**: EU consolidated financial sanctions list, UN Security Council list, UK Sanctions List (FCDO/OFSI) and US OFAC SDN list, refreshed weekly. Fuzzy name matching with scores, so spelling variants and transliterations are caught.
- **PEP** (politically exposed persons): heads of state and government, ministers, members of parliament and the European Parliament, central bankers, from Wikidata.

### Input

- `names`: one per line, and/or
- `csvUrl`: a public link to a CSV file with a header row (comma or semicolon separated), plus `nameColumn` (default `name`). Up to 20,000 names per run.
- `lists`: sanctions and PEP (default), sanctions only, or PEP only.

### Output

One row per name: `verdict` (`no_match`, `possible_sanctions_match`, `possible_pep`), a one-line summary, the top sanctions score, the best matches and flags. Export as CSV, Excel or JSON from the dataset, or use the CSV link in the run output.

### Who uses it

Compliance teams re-screening their customer base after a list update, onboarding and payout teams, NGOs and marketplaces checking partners and sellers, and AI agents working through a list.

### For AI agents

Agents can run this Actor through the Apify MCP server, or pay with USDC on Base through Apify's x402 support without an Apify account. Direct API without Apify: `GET https://factline.dev/v1/screen/bulk?names=...` (100 names per call, x402 or API key).

### Pricing

Pay per name screened. Failed batches are not charged.

### Notes

Automated screening aid, not legal advice. A possible match needs a person to confirm identity (date of birth, nationality) against the official list before acting. A clean result is not clearance.
