## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## TikTok Profile Scraper - Public Profile Analytics

Collect structured metadata and statistics from public TikTok profiles for creator research, brand monitoring, and market analysis.

The Actor reads TikTok's public embedded profile payload through bounded HTTP sessions and charges only after a profile record is successfully saved.

### What It Extracts

- Username, display name, biography, and profile URL
- Followers, following, total likes, and video count
- Verification, privacy, and region signals
- Public website in bio and profile image URL
- Collection timestamp

### Pricing

Each successfully saved public profile costs **$0.002**. Failed, blocked, private, unavailable, and unsaved profiles are not charged.

### Input

```json
{
  "usernames": ["charlidamelio", "https://www.tiktok.com/@tiktok"],
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"]
  }
}
```

A run accepts up to 50 usernames or profile URLs. Residential proxy rotation is the reliable default for consistent public responses.

### Sample Output

```json
{
  "username": "charlidamelio",
  "displayName": "charli d'amelio",
  "bioText": "Public profile biography",
  "followersCount": 155000000,
  "followingCount": 1300,
  "totalLikesReceived": 11700000000,
  "totalVideosCount": 2800,
  "verifiedBadge": true,
  "region": "US",
  "profileUrl": "https://www.tiktok.com/@charlidamelio",
  "isPrivate": false,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-08-09T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Reliability and Cost Controls

1. Usernames and URLs are normalized and deduplicated.
2. A low-cost public HTML or API lookup is attempted first.
3. A failed lookup is retried once with a fresh proxy session.
4. No browser, video download, login, or private endpoint is used.
5. Retries, memory, runtime, and input size are bounded.
6. The run fails clearly when no valid public profile is returned.

### Responsible Use

- Public profiles only; private or login-protected data is not accessed.
- Do not use the Actor for harassment, sensitive-person profiling, deceptive outreach, or attempts to identify private individuals.
- You are responsible for following applicable laws, TikTok's terms, and Apify's platform rules.

# Actor input Schema

## `usernames` (type: `array`):

List of TikTok usernames (e.g. charlidamelio) or full profile URLs. Only public profiles can be scraped.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy rotation is recommended. A failed lookup is retried once with a fresh HTTP session.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "usernames": [
    "charlidamelio"
  ],
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ]
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Clean dataset items containing public TikTok profile identifiers, biography, follower and engagement statistics, verification state, avatar, source URL, and scrape metadata.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "usernames": [
        "charlidamelio"
    ],
    "proxyConfiguration": {
        "useApifyProxy": true,
        "apifyProxyGroups": [
            "RESIDENTIAL"
        ]
    }
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("fascinating_lentil/tiktok-profile-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
