## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## German Apprenticeships – Ausbildung & Duales Studium API

Search **German apprenticeship (Ausbildung) and dual study (Duales Studium) offers** from the official job-search data of the **Bundesagentur für Arbeit** (German Federal Employment Agency), and get one clean, flat JSON row per offer: title, profession (Beruf), employer, city, postal code, region, start date, publication date, reference number, a link to the offer on arbeitsagentur.de, and coordinates.

Search, for example, "Fachinformatiker in Berlin", "Mechatroniker within 50 km of 80331" or "Informatik dual in Hamburg, starting 2027", and get the results as a JSON, CSV or Excel dataset. You can also call it through the API, n8n, Make, Zapier or an AI agent (MCP).

### Who it is for

- **Recruiters and HR teams**: track who is hiring apprentices in a region, benchmark competitors and find gaps.
- **Schools and career counsellors**: give pupils up-to-date lists of training places near them.
- **Apprenticeship portals and job boards**: fill or update your listings with structured data.
- **Researchers and journalists**: analyse the training market by profession, region and start date.

### Why this actor

- **Official source**: the public Jobsuche API that powers the arbeitsagentur.de web app. It needs no login, no proxy and no scraping of HTML.
- **Apprenticeships only**: queries are restricted to offer type 4 (Ausbildung / Duales Studium), so you get no regular jobs mixed in.
- **Fast and cheap**: 10 offers in about 5 seconds at 256 MB, for **$0.001 per offer** (competitors charge $0.001 to $0.003 per row plus start fees).
- **Flat, AI-friendly output**: the same fields in every row, ISO dates and numeric lat/lon.
- **Privacy-friendly**: only the employer company and public posting fields are returned. Names of contact persons are never output.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `was` | Apprenticeship title or keyword, e.g. `Fachinformatiker`, `Mechatroniker`, `Kaufmann für Büromanagement` |
| `wo` | City, district or postal code (PLZ). Leave it empty for all of Germany |
| `umkreis` | Radius in km (default 25) |
| `type` | `both` (default), `ausbildung` or `duales_studium` |
| `startFrom` / `startUntil` | Start-date window: `YYYY-MM-DD`, `YYYY-MM` or `YYYY` |
| `employerContains` | Keep only employers whose name contains this text |
| `publishedWithinDays` | Only offers published in the last N days (max 100) |
| `maxResults` | Maximum number of offers (default 10) |
| `includeDetails` | Also fetch the offer detail: description, required school certificate and employer website. This makes one extra request per offer |

```json
{
  "was": "Fachinformatiker",
  "wo": "Berlin",
  "umkreis": 25,
  "type": "both",
  "startFrom": "2027",
  "maxResults": 10
}
```

### Output

One row per offer (real example from a test run):

```json
{
  "title": "Ausbildung zum Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration (m/w/d)",
  "profession": "Fachinformatiker/in - Systemintegration",
  "type": "ausbildung",
  "offerKind": "AUSBILDUNG",
  "employer": "Firstlead GmbH",
  "city": "Berlin",
  "postalCode": "10315",
  "region": "Berlin",
  "country": "Deutschland",
  "startDate": "2027-08-01",
  "publishedAt": "2026-11-05",
  "schoolCertificateRequired": null,
  "refNr": "10000-1208540062-S",
  "detailUrl": "https://www.arbeitsagentur.de/jobsuche/jobdetail/10000-1208540062-S",
  "externalUrl": null,
  "fullTime": true,
  "salaryInfo": null,
  "contractDuration": null,
  "lat": 52.510041,
  "lon": 13.5042975,
  "source": "Bundesagentur für Arbeit – Jobsuche",
  "status": "ok"
}
```

With `includeDetails: true`, each row also has `description` (the posting text, up to 5,000 characters), `schoolCertificateRequired` (for example `mittleren Schulabschluss`), `salaryText`, `employerWebsite` and `detailsFetched`.

`type` comes from the offer's official training type. If that is missing, the title is checked for terms like "Studium", "Bachelor", "B.Sc." or "Hochschule".

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per offer returned** ($1 per 1,000 offers). Errors and filtered-out offers are free. Set a maximum cost per run to cap spending.

### API, n8n and MCP

- **API**: `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/fast_data_asap~german-apprenticeships-ausbildung/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>` with the input JSON as the body.
- **n8n / Make / Zapier**: use the Apify node or app, choose this actor and map the dataset items.
- **MCP (Claude, Cursor and other AI agents)**: `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=fast_data_asap/german-apprenticeships-ausbildung`

### Notes

- The data comes from the public Jobsuche service of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. Its availability and fields depend on that service. Always check the offer on arbeitsagentur.de before you apply.
- Some employers publish their offers only on their own site. In that case `externalUrl` links there.
