## Pricing

Pay per event

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper – Full Article Text

Scrape **Google News by keyword or topic** in 18 countries and languages. Get titles, sources, publish dates, the **original article URLs** and, optionally, the **full article text**, ready for AI summaries, RAG pipelines and media monitoring.

**$2.50 per 1,000 articles, plus $2.50 per 1,000 full texts** (only charged when text was extracted).

### Why this scraper

- ✅ **Real publisher URLs**, not Google redirect links
- ✅ **Full article text** extracted with trafilatura, clean and without menus or ads
- ✅ **Search queries and topic sections** (Top stories, Business, Technology, ...) in one run
- ✅ **18 editions**: US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Japan and more
- ✅ **Google News operators** work: `site:`, `intitle:`, `OR`, quotes
- ✅ Built on Google News' public RSS feeds, so it is fast and stable

### What you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `title`, `source`, `sourceUrl`, `publishedAt` | Headline, publisher and time (UTC) |
| `url` | Original article URL |
| `googleNewsUrl` | Google News link |
| `query` / `topic`, `edition` | Where the article came from |
| `fullText`, `fullTextWordCount`, `description`, `imageUrl` | With full text enabled |

### Example output

```json
{
  "title": "EU agrees on new AI rules for chatbots",
  "source": "Reuters",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-19T08:12:00+00:00",
  "url": "https://www.reuters.com/technology/...",
  "query": "artificial intelligence",
  "edition": "US:en",
  "fullTextWordCount": 812,
  "fullText": "BRUSSELS, Oct 19 (Reuters) - ..."
}
```

### How much does it cost?

| | Price |
|---|---|
| 1,000 articles (headline, source, date, URL) | $2.50 |
| Full text add-on, per 1,000 articles with text | $2.50 |

Example: 100 articles with full text cost about $0.50.

### Use cases

- Media and brand monitoring, competitor news alerts (schedule it daily)
- News feeds for AI agents, RAG and LLM summaries
- Market, finance and PR research
- Connect to Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier or n8n, or call it from AI agents via the Apify MCP server

### FAQ

**Is this a Google News API?** Yes. Google retired its News API; this Actor returns Google News results as JSON via the Apify API, MCP or integrations, an alternative to NewsAPI or GNews.

**Which countries and languages are supported?** 18 Google News editions, e.g. US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil, India, Japan.

**Do I get the original article URL?** Yes. Google's redirect links are decoded to the publisher's URL by default.

**Can I get the full article text?** Yes, switch on full text. Paywalled or blocked pages are skipped and not charged for full text.

**How far back does it go?** Use the time range (last hour to last year). Google News returns up to about 100 articles per query.

### Use it with Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents

1. Add the Apify MCP server to your assistant (e.g. in Claude: Settings → Connectors → add `https://mcp.apify.com`, then sign in with Apify).
2. Ask in plain language. The assistant finds this Actor, runs it and works with the results.

Or connect only this Actor: `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=fast_data_asap/google-news-scraper`

Example prompts:

- "Find all news about our competitor Acme Corp from the last 24 hours and summarise them."
- "Get today's top technology headlines in Germany with full text and list the 5 most important."

You can also run it via the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n and Google Sheets.

#### Free n8n workflow

[Daily brand/competitor news alert to Slack](https://github.com/ichkifokkus/data-recipes/tree/main/2-daily-news-alert) – import-ready n8n workflow using this Actor. More in [Data Recipes](https://github.com/ichkifokkus/data-recipes).

#### Pay per call with x402 – no account needed

AI agents can run this Actor and pay per call with **x402** (USDC stablecoin payments over HTTP) through Apify's agentic payments – no Apify account or API key required. You pay the same pay-per-event prices listed above. Details: [Apify x402 integration](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/x402).

### Notes

- Google News returns up to about 100 articles per query or topic. Use several specific queries or shorter time ranges for more.
- Some publishers block text extraction or use paywalls; those articles are returned without full text and the add-on is not charged.
- Article texts belong to their publishers. Make sure your use complies with copyright.
