## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Chrome Web Store Leads Scraper

[![Run on Apify](https://apify.com/actor-badge?actor=fastdata_lab/chrome-extension-leads-scraper)](https://apify.com/fastdata_lab/chrome-extension-leads-scraper)

Extracts extension rankings, install counts, user ratings, and verified developer contact emails directly from the Chrome Web Store without running a headless browser.

[**Run directly on Apify Store**](https://apify.com/fastdata_lab/chrome-extension-leads-scraper) — zero installation required.

### What it does

This Actor searches the official Chrome Web Store (`chromewebstore.google.com`) by keyword and concurrently extracts metadata from the server-rendered item detail pages. It targets extension metadata for market research, developer outreach, and B2B lead generation.

Because it operates via direct HTTP streams rather than booting a full Chromium/Puppeteer instance, it finishes within seconds and uses negligible compute.

### Extracted data fields

For each extension found, the actor extracts:

- `id`: The unique 32-character Chrome extension ID
- `title`: Extension public title
- `developerEmail`: Public developer / support contact email
- `userCount`: Active user count string (e.g. `1,000,000+ users`)
- `userCountNumber`: Numeric parsed user count (e.g. `1000000`)
- `rating`: Average review rating (1.0 to 5.0)
- `url`: Direct Chrome Web Store link
- `description`: Extension summary / tagline
- `privacyPolicyUrl`: Developer privacy policy URL
- `iconUrl`: Extension store icon image URL
- `scrapedAt`: ISO timestamp

### Input parameters

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `searchQuery` | string | `"ai"` | Keyword to search for (e.g. `shopify`, `crm`, `seo`, `crypto`) |
| `maxItems` | integer | `30` | Maximum number of extensions to extract |
| `onlyWithEmail` | boolean | `false` | If enabled, only saves extensions that have a public developer email |

### Example output

```json
{
  "id": "becfinhbfclcgokjlobojlnldbfillpf",
  "title": "Chat with all AI models (Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek…) & AI Agents | AITOPIA",
  "developerEmail": "info@aitopia.ai",
  "userCount": "1,000,000 users",
  "userCountNumber": 1000000,
  "rating": 4.8,
  "url": "https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/chat-with-all-ai-models-g/becfinhbfclcgokjlobojlnldbfillpf",
  "description": "AI Agent Marketplace & AI Sidebar with all AI models...",
  "privacyPolicyUrl": "https://www.aitopia.ai/privacy-policy/",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-23T18:15:30Z"
}
```

### Limitations

- Only extracts publicly published contact emails listed by developers on their official store detail pages.
- Does not extract extension source code or internal CRX binaries.
