## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Workday Jobs Scraper: jobs from any myworkdayjobs.com career site

Thousands of large employers (Fortune 500 companies, universities, hospitals, banks, governments) run their career sites on **Workday**. This Actor pulls every open job from any Workday career site into a clean dataset: title, full description, posting date, all locations, remote flag, employment type, requisition ID and hiring entity.

**At a glance:** $2.00 per 1,000 jobs. Pay per result with no subscription, set a maximum cost per run, export to JSON, CSV or Excel, or call it from the Apify API, Make, Zapier or n8n.

It reads the same public JSON endpoints the Workday career site itself calls in your browser. No login, no cookies, no headless browser, no proxy. Runs are fast and cheap.

### What you get

- **Any Workday tenant:** wd1, wd3, wd5, wd12 and other data centers. Paste the URL you see in the browser.
- **Full detail per job:** description, `postedAt`, every location, country, `isRemote`, employment type, requisition ID, hiring entity.
- **Salary parsing:** pay ranges written in the description (common for US roles under pay transparency laws) are parsed into `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency` and `salaryPeriod`.
- **Filters before detail fetch:** title keywords and excludes are applied to the listing first, so only matching jobs cost a detail request.
- **Monitoring mode:** `onlyNewJobs` returns only postings you have not seen in earlier runs. Schedule it daily for a feed of new requisitions.
- **Polite by design:** robots.txt is checked at runtime, requests are rate limited per host, and retries back off on 429 and 5xx.

### Use cases

- Job boards and aggregators that need enterprise listings that are hard to reach.
- Recruiting and sales teams tracking hiring signals at large accounts.
- Labor market and salary research across big employers.
- Job seekers watching a few large companies for new openings.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `companies` | array (required) | Workday career site URLs, for example `https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite`. |
| `keywords` | array | Keep titles containing any of these words. |
| `excludeKeywords` | array | Drop titles containing any of these words. |
| `searchInDescription` | boolean | Match `keywords` in the description too (fetches every detail page, slower). |
| `locations` | array | Keep jobs whose location contains any of these strings. |
| `remoteOnly` | boolean | Only remote jobs. |
| `departments` | array | Keep jobs whose department contains any of these strings. |
| `postedWithinDays` | integer | Only jobs posted in the last N days. |
| `includeUndatedJobs` | boolean | Keep jobs without a date when `postedWithinDays` is set. |
| `onlyNewJobs` | boolean | Monitoring mode. |
| `stateStoreName` | string | Named key-value store for monitoring state. One name per monitor. |
| `includeDescription` | boolean | Include the full description (default true). Off is much faster. |
| `descriptionFormat` | `text`, `html`, `both` | Description format. |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` | integer | Cap per site, 0 for no cap. |
| `maxTotalJobs` | integer | Cap per run, 0 for no cap. |
| `maxConcurrency` | integer | Sites scraped in parallel (1 to 20). |

#### How to find the URL

Open the company's careers page, click **Search jobs** or any job, and copy the address up to the site name:

```
https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite
https://adobe.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/external_experienced
https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site
```

Language prefixes such as `/en-US/` are handled automatically.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "companies": ["https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite", "https://adobe.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/external_experienced"],
  "keywords": ["engineer"],
  "postedWithinDays": 14,
  "onlyNewJobs": true
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per job. Example (description shortened):

```json
{
  "uid": "workday:nvidia:JR2028754",
  "id": "JR2028754",
  "ats": "workday",
  "companySlug": "nvidia/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite",
  "companyName": "nvidia",
  "title": "Technical Program Manager, OEM Enablement",
  "location": "2 Locations",
  "locations": ["US, CA, Santa Clara", "US, SC, Remote"],
  "country": "United States of America",
  "isRemote": true,
  "employmentType": "Full time",
  "postedAt": "2026-10-27T00:00:00+00:00",
  "url": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite/job/...",
  "salaryMin": null,
  "salaryMax": null,
  "hiringEntity": "2100 NVIDIA USA",
  "requisitionId": "JR2028754",
  "descriptionText": "At NVIDIA, we're at the forefront of innovation ...",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-27T17:20:24.064202+00:00"
}
```

Fields are always present and `null` when Workday does not publish them. `uid` is stable across runs. A `RUN_SUMMARY` record in the default key-value store lists every site with jobs found, matched and returned, and any error. A bad URL never stops the run.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you pay only for jobs returned to your dataset. Filtered out jobs and already seen jobs in monitoring mode are free. Set **Maximum cost per run** and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Limits

- Workday's public listing endpoint returns at most about 2,000 jobs per site per query. Use `keywords` to split very large employers.
- Each job with a description needs one extra request. Speed is about 3 jobs per second per site with the polite rate limit, and sites run in parallel.
- Other ATS platforms (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee) are covered by the companion **ATS Jobs Scraper**.

### Is this legal?

The Actor only reads job postings that companies publish openly so that anyone can apply, using the public endpoints of the career site. It does not log in, does not bypass access controls, respects robots.txt and rate limits, and does not collect personal data about candidates or employees. You are responsible for how you use the data. If in doubt, consult a lawyer.

### FAQ

**I get "Workday rejected site".** The site name part of the URL is wrong. Copy it again from the browser after opening the job search.

**How fresh is the data?** Live. Every run reads the site at run time.

**Can I call it from code or an AI agent?** Yes, through the Apify API, the Apify clients, or Apify's MCP server.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One Workday career site per line, as shown in your browser, for example https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite. The tenant, data center (wd1, wd3, wd5...) and site name are read from the URL. Non-Workday URLs are skipped with a message.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (case-insensitive). Leave empty to keep all.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, for example 'intern' or 'senior'.

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Also match 'Title keywords' against the job description. Requires 'Include description'.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location contains one of these strings, for example 'London', 'United States', 'Remote'.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs marked remote by the ATS or with 'remote' in the location.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose department or team contains one of these strings, for example 'Engineering'.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs first published in the last N days. Empty keeps all.

## `includeUndatedJobs` (type: `boolean`):

When 'Posted within last N days' is set, keep jobs whose ATS does not expose a date.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Return only jobs not returned by a previous run with this option on. State is kept in a named key-value store, so scheduled runs give you a clean feed of new postings and you pay only for new ones.

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store used by 'Only new jobs'. Use different names for independent monitors.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include the full job description. On Workday this needs one extra request per job, so runs are slower.

## `descriptionFormat` (type: `string`):

Plain text, HTML, or both.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many matching jobs per company. 0 means no limit.

## `maxTotalJobs` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many jobs. 0 means no limit. The run also stops at your 'Maximum cost per run'.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many companies to scrape at the same time. Requests to each host are rate limited regardless.
