## Pricing

from $1.50 / 1,000 profiles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Instagram Profile Scraper – Followers & Bio, No Login

Scrape **public Instagram profiles** — follower and following counts, post count, bio, bio links, category, verified and business status, related profiles and latest posts. No Instagram account, cookies or proxies needed.

**Why this scraper**

- 🔁 **Drop-in output**: the same field names as the official Instagram Profile Scraper (`followersCount`, `followsCount`, `postsCount`, `biography`, `externalUrls`, `relatedProfiles`, `latestPosts`…), so switching does not break your pipeline.
- 💸 **From $1.50 per 1,000 profiles**, below the official Profile Scraper's prices.
- 🎯 **Pay only for profiles delivered**: missing usernames cost a flat small fee, and you can cap the cost of every run.
- ⚡ **No browser**: lightweight requests, starts in seconds, runs on 256 MB.

### What data you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `username`, `fullName`, `id`, `url` | `nasa`, `NASA`, `528817151` |
| `followersCount`, `followsCount`, `postsCount` | `104294612`, `90`, `4943` |
| `biography`, `externalUrl`, `externalUrls` | bio text, website and every bio link |
| `verified`, `private`, `isBusinessAccount` | `true`, `false`, `true` |
| `businessCategoryName`, `businessAddress` | `Government Agencies` |
| `highlightReelCount`, `igtvVideoCount` | `6`, `171` |
| `profilePicUrl`, `profilePicUrlHD` | profile picture URLs |
| `relatedProfiles` | similar accounts suggested by Instagram |
| `latestPosts` | up to 12 latest posts with likes, comments, captions and media |

### Sample output

![Sample output: six public profiles](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/X9wmEw233kFEGdWS2/records/sample-profile.png)

The Overview table above is what you see in Apify Console after a run; switch to **All fields** or export JSON for every field.

### How to use

1. Add usernames or profile URLs (`nasa`, `@nasa`, `https://www.instagram.com/nasa/`).
2. Run and export as JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull via API.

```json
{
    "usernames": ["nasa", "natgeo", "https://www.instagram.com/nike/"]
}
```

A run summary (per-profile status) is saved to the `OUTPUT` record of the run's key-value store.

### Pricing

Pay per event — you are charged only for results delivered:

| Event | Free plan | Starter | Scale | Business+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profile scraped | $2.00 / 1,000 | $1.80 / 1,000 | $1.70 / 1,000 | **$1.50 / 1,000** |
| Missing profile | $0.0015 each | | | |
| Actor start | $0.0005 per run | | | |

### FAQ

**Do I need an Instagram account?** No. Only publicly visible data is collected, without logging in.

**What about private profiles?** You get the public part (name, bio, counts, picture); posts are not visible.

**Why is `postsCount` sometimes null or `latestPosts` empty?** For some very large accounts Instagram's logged-out profile view hides the post grid. Use [Instagram Posts Scraper](https://apify.com/feedpull/instagram-posts-scraper) to get their posts.

**Is scraping Instagram legal?** This Actor only collects publicly available data. Personal data is protected by regulations such as GDPR; make sure you have a legitimate reason and consult a lawyer if unsure.

### Data & privacy

Only publicly visible data is collected. To bill correctly and keep the scraper healthy, each run reports its input (the usernames and options you entered), result counts, charges and upstream request counts to FeedPull's own monitoring, tied to a pseudonymous id of your Apify account. Scraped results go only to your dataset. Inputs and per-target details are deleted after 90 days; only aggregate counts are kept.
