## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews + Insights Report

Download **Google Play app reviews** (including developer replies) and get an **instant insights
report** for every app, with no spreadsheet work and no AI credits.

### What the insights report tells you

- **Top complaint themes** with their share of negative reviews: crashes/bugs, login/account,
  pricing/subscription, ads, performance, UI/UX, customer support, notifications, sync/data loss,
  privacy and feature requests, each with the most-upvoted example.
- **Top negative and positive phrases** (2- and 3-word phrases people repeat).
- **Rating by app version**: spot the release that broke things.
- **Rating by month.**
- **Most helpful critical reviews**: the complaints other users agree with.
- **Store stats**: overall rating, rating count, star histogram, installs, current version.

### Who it's for

- **ASO and app marketers**: track sentiment after every release.
- **Product managers**: turn reviews into a prioritised bug and feature list.
- **Competitor research**: see exactly why users dislike a rival app.
- **Agencies**: generate a client-ready review audit in one run.

For iOS, use the companion actor [App Store Reviews + Insights](https://apify.com/feedwise/app-review-insights).

### Input

```json
{
  "apps": ["https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duolingo", "com.spotify.music", "Notion"],
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
  "sort": "newest",
  "sinceDate": "2026-09-01"
}
```

### Output

Rows with `type: "insights"` are per-app reports; rows with `type: "review"` are individual reviews:

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "appName": "Duolingo: Language Lessons",
  "rating": 2,
  "text": "Too many ads since the last update...",
  "version": "6.20.3",
  "date": "2026-09-30T18:24:18.637Z",
  "voteSum": 14,
  "developerReply": "Thanks for the feedback...",
  "themes": ["ads"]
}
```

### Good to know

- Reviews come from Google Play's public review feed, which usually lags the app page by a few days.
  "Newest" means newest published by Google.
- Use `sinceDate` for weekly monitoring: only reviews on or after that date are collected (and charged).

### Pricing

Pay per review saved, plus one insights report per app. Turn either off to pay only for the other.
