## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Podcast Leads Finder — host emails, activity and guest shows

Find podcasts on any topic and get a clean, outreach-ready lead list: **host/owner email, website,
socials, last episode date, publishing cadence, and whether the show interviews guests.**

Built for:

- **Podcast guesting** — find active interview shows in your niche and pitch yourself as a guest.
- **Sponsorships and ads** — find shows that publish regularly and reach your audience.
- **PR and agencies** — build targeted media lists in minutes instead of hours.
- **Market research** — see who is publishing about a topic and how often.

### How it works

1. Searches Apple Podcasts for each keyword (up to 200 shows per keyword), or looks up the shows you paste.
2. Reads each show's **public RSS feed** — the same feed podcast apps use.
3. Extracts the contact details the owner publishes in the feed, then scores activity and format.

No login, no browser, no cookies. Only public data the podcaster publishes for distribution.

### What you get per podcast

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title`, `artist`, `appleUrl`, `feedUrl` | Show basics |
| `ownerName`, `ownerEmail` | From the feed's `itunes:owner` block |
| `otherEmails`, `socials` | Contact emails and Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook links found in show notes |
| `website`, `language`, `genres` | Show metadata |
| `lastEpisodeDate`, `daysSinceLastEpisode` | Is the show still alive? |
| `medianDaysBetweenEpisodes`, `episodesLast90Days` | Publishing cadence |
| `feedEpisodeCount`, `firstEpisodeDate` | Show size and age |
| `guestFormatScore`, `likelyInterviewShow` | Share of recent episodes that look like guest interviews |
| `recentEpisodes` | Latest episode titles, dates and links |

### Filters that save you money

You are **only charged for podcasts that pass your filters**:

- `activeWithinDays` — drop dead shows (e.g. 60).
- `minEpisodes` — drop brand-new or tiny shows.
- `requireEmail` — keep only shows with a published contact email.
- `onlyInterviewShows` — keep only shows that host guests.

### Example input

```json
{
  "keywords": ["real estate investing", "ai tools"],
  "maxPodcastsPerKeyword": 100,
  "activeWithinDays": 60,
  "requireEmail": true,
  "onlyInterviewShows": true
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: you pay only for each podcast lead saved to the dataset. Filtered-out shows are free.

### Responsible use

Contact details come from what podcasters publish in their public feeds for listeners and
directories. Follow anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL) when you contact anyone: personalise
your message, identify yourself, and honour opt-outs.

### FAQ

**Why do some shows have no email?** The owner did not publish one in the feed. Use `requireEmail` to skip them.

**Which countries?** Any Apple Podcasts store: set `country` (e.g. `gb`, `in`, `au`).

**Can I enrich my own list?** Yes — paste Apple Podcasts IDs or URLs into `appleIds`.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Topics to search on Apple Podcasts, for example "saas marketing" or "real estate investing". Each keyword returns up to 200 shows.

Enrich specific shows. Paste IDs (e.g. 1200361736) or full podcasts.apple.com URLs.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code of the Apple Podcasts store to search.

## `maxPodcastsPerKeyword` (type: `integer`):

## `minEpisodes` (type: `integer`):

Skip shows with fewer episodes. Filtered shows are not charged.

## `requireEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only shows that publish an owner or contact email. Filtered shows are not charged.

## `onlyInterviewShows` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only shows whose recent episode titles look like guest interviews (useful for podcast guesting).

## `recentEpisodes` (type: `integer`):

How many of the latest episodes (title, date, link) to include per podcast.

## `includeFailedFeeds` (type: `boolean`):

Off by default: shows without a readable feed have no contact data, so they are skipped and not charged.
