## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Idealo API do?

Idealo API exports price comparison data from [idealo](https://www.idealo.de), Europe's large price comparison site, as a clean table. Give it search queries, EAN barcodes or idealo links, pick the countries, and get each product with its lowest price, number of offers, rating, review count and key specs. Turn on offers to get every shop selling the product, cheapest first, with price, total price including shipping, delivery time and carrier.

It works as an idealo scraper and an idealo API alternative: no idealo account, no API key, no proxy needed.

### Why use it?

- **Price tracking and repricing.** Run it on a schedule for your products and see every shop's current price and shipping.
- **EAN lookup.** Paste barcodes from your catalogue and get the matching idealo product and its offers.
- **Market research across Europe.** The same product id works on idealo.de, .at, .co.uk, .fr, .it and .es, so you can compare countries.
- **Competitor monitoring.** See which shops undercut you and by how much, including delivery cost.

### How much does it cost?

You pay per result, nothing per run:

| What | Price |
|---|---|
| Product | $0.0005 ($0.50 per 1,000) |
| Every shop's offer for a product (add-on) | $0.0005 per product |

Example: 1,000 products with all shop offers cost $1.00. Products already returned in the same run are not charged again, and you can set a maximum cost per run.

### How to use it

1. Type search queries (`iphone 15`, `kaffeemaschine`), paste EAN codes, or paste idealo links: product pages, category pages or search pages.
2. Pick countries (Germany by default).
3. Set how many products you need and turn on shop offers if you need them.
4. Run it and download JSON, CSV or Excel, or read the dataset through the Apify API.

### Input example

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["iphone 15"],
  "eans": ["0195949036019"],
  "markets": ["de", "fr"],
  "maxItems": 200,
  "includeOffers": true,
  "maxOffersPerProduct": 10
}
```

Field names of other idealo scrapers also work (`searchTerms`, `eanGtins`, `productUrls`, `productIds`, `country`, `market`, `maxResults`, `includeAllOffers`, `operation` with `values`), so you can switch without rewriting your input.

      "currency": "EUR"
    }
  ]
}
```
### Limits
- Offers are the new-condition offers idealo lists for the product; used offers are not included.
- `offersCount` in search results is idealo's own count and may include used offers, so it can be higher than the number of offers returned.
- An EAN returns the product idealo itself opens for that code (the row then has an `ean` field); a code idealo does not match to one product returns nothing.
- Products given by link or id have title, prices and offers but no rating, reviews or specs; search results have all fields.
- Without `maxItems` a run stops at 100 products; set 0 for no limit.
- Prices are those idealo shows at run time in the chosen country.
### FAQ
**Is there an official idealo API?** idealo offers APIs to partner shops, not a public price data API. This actor reads the same public pages a shopper sees.
**Can I track prices daily?** Yes. Save the input as a task and add a schedule in Apify.
**Something is missing or wrong?** Open an issue on the Issues tab. Fields get added on request.
# Actor input Schema
## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):
Words you would type in the idealo search box, for example 'iphone 15' or 'kaffeemaschine'.
## `eans` (type: `array`):
Barcodes to look up. Each code returns the matching idealo product, with all shop offers if you turn them on.
## `startUrls` (type: `array`):
Product pages (https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/...), category or search pages, or idealo product ids.
## `markets` (type: `array`):
Which idealo sites to search. Queries and EANs run on each; links use their own site. Default Germany.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Products in total across all queries, codes, links and countries. 100 if empty, 0 means no limit.
## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):
Limit for each query or link in each country. Empty or 0 means no limit.
## `includeOffers` (type: `boolean`):
Each product gets the list of shops with price, total with shipping, delivery time and carrier, cheapest first, plus the lowest total price. Charged once per product.
## `maxOffersPerProduct` (type: `integer`):
Cheapest offers kept per product. Empty or 0 keeps all new-condition offers.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
idealo works without a proxy. Turn Apify Proxy on only if runs get refused.
## Actor input object example
```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "iphone 15"
  ],
  "markets": [
    "de"
  ],
  "maxItems": 50,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
