## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Yahoo Finance Scraper — quotes, fundamentals & price history

Any Yahoo Finance symbol in, structured data out — **stocks, ETFs, indices, crypto, FX and futures**,
US and international. Three data sets, pick any combination:

- **Quote** — live price and 40 market fields: change, volume, market cap, P/E (trailing & forward),
  EPS, price-to-book, 52-week range, moving averages, dividend yield, pre/post-market prices.
- **Fundamentals** — valuation and key statistics, financial data (margins, growth, cash, debt,
  analyst targets and recommendations), and the company profile (sector, industry, employees,
  officers, description).
- **Price history** — OHLCV candles with adjusted close, from 1-minute bars to monthly, up to full history.

No API key, no login, no browser. Batches 50 symbols per request.

### Input

| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `symbols` | `["AAPL","MSFT","NVDA"]` | Yahoo symbols: `SPY`, `^GSPC`, `BTC-USD`, `EURUSD=X`, `GC=F`, `SAP.DE`, `7203.T` |
| `dataTypes` | `["quote"]` | Any of `quote`, `fundamentals`, `history` |
| `historyRange` | `1mo` | `1d` … `max` |
| `historyInterval` | `1d` | `1m` … `1mo` (intraday intervals are limited by Yahoo to recent ranges) |
| `maxItems` | `10` | One record per quote, per fundamentals set, or per candle |

### Output

```json
{ "dataType": "quote", "symbol": "AAPL", "shortName": "Apple Inc.", "exchange": "NMS", "currency": "USD", "regularMarketPrice": 319.97, "regularMarketChangePercent": 1.24, "regularMarketVolume": 48211300, "marketCap": 4669700046848, "trailingPE": 36.61, "forwardPE": 30.2, "fiftyTwoWeekLow": 169.21, "fiftyTwoWeekHigh": 325.9, "dividendYield": 0.33, "scrapedAt": "2026-09-06T20:00:00.000Z" }
```

### Use cases

Portfolio and watchlist tracking, screening on valuation and growth fields, feeding pricing models
and backtests with clean OHLCV, and enriching company lists with sector, size and financials.

### Notes

- Symbols Yahoo does not know are skipped with a warning, never failing the run.
- Fundamentals modules are returned as nested objects with Yahoo's field names; numeric fields are unwrapped to plain numbers.
