## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Chrome Web Store Extensions – Users, Rating, Version, Developer

Extracts Chrome Web Store extension pages by id, URL, search term or category, with users, rating, version and developer. Optionally includes the latest reviews. It has a watch mode that only emits new extensions or extensions with changes.

### Use cases

- Competitive analysis: users, rating and version history of rival extensions
- Lead generation: find developers and publishers of extensions in a category
- Market research and trend tracking across the Chrome Web Store
- Review mining for product feedback

### What it does / Qué hace

- Reads the public page of each extension: name, users, rating, number of ratings, version, developer, category, last update and description.

- Searches terms and categories in the Store and takes up to `maxResultados` extensions from each listing.

- Filters by a minimum number of users with `usuariosMin`.

- With `modoVigilancia` on, it keeps in a key-value store which extensions were already seen and only emits the ones that are new or whose users, rating or version changed.

### Input / Entrada

| Campo | Descripción |
| --- | --- |
| `ids` | Ids de extensión (32 letras a-p). |
| `maxResenas` | Máximo de reseñas por extensión. |
| `modoVigilancia` | Emite solo extensiones nuevas o con cambios. |

Ejemplo / Example:

```json
{
  "ids": ["cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"]
}
```

Modo vigilancia / Watch mode:

```json
{
  "busquedas": ["ad blocker"],
  "maxResultados": 10,
  "modoVigilancia": true
}
```

Watch mode state is kept in the key-value store `chrome-web-store-extensions-vigilancia`. Each record emitted in this mode includes `cambio` (`nueva` or `cambiada`) and `camposCambiados`. Unchanged extensions are not emitted and not charged.

### Output / Salida

One dataset record per extension, with `id`, `nombre`, `url`, `descripcion`, `usuarios`, `valoracion`, `numValoraciones`, `version`, `desarrollador`, `categoria`, `ultimaActualizacion` and, when requested, `resenas`. If a page answers with an HTTP error, a record with `error` is stored and not charged.

At the end, the Actor stores the run counters in `RESUMEN`: solicitadas, extraidas, descartadas, errores and, in watch mode, `sinCambios`.

### Pricing / Precios

Pago por evento / Pay per event:

- `extension-details`: 0,001 USD por ficha guardada en el dataset.

- `review`: 0,0002 USD por reseña incluida.

- `extension-details`: 0.001 USD per extension page saved in the dataset.

Extensions with errors or discarded by the minimum users are not charged. Unchanged extensions in watch mode are not charged either.

#### Integrations (Make, Zapier, Google Sheets)

- **Make**: add the Apify module "Run an Actor" (Actor `Flets_sv/chrome-web-store-extensions`), paste the input JSON, chain "Get Dataset Items" and map the fields to Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable or your CRM.
- **Zapier**: the Apify app offers "Run Actor" and "Fetch Dataset Items". Add a Schedule trigger and send each row to Gmail, Slack or Notion.
- **Google Sheets**: enable the official Google Sheets integration in the Actor's Integrations tab to append every run to a sheet, or call `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/Flets_sv~chrome-web-store-extensions/run-sync-get-dataset-items?format=csv` with POST and your input from Apps Script (`UrlFetchApp`).
- **API and webhooks**: start the Actor from the REST API, use Schedules for recurring runs and add a webhook to notify your system when a run finishes.

Input to paste into Make or Zapier:

```json
{"ids":["cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"],"urls":[],"busquedas":[],"categorias":[],"usuariosMin":0,"maxResultados":20,"incluirResenas":false,"maxResenas":10,"modoVigilancia":false}
```

### FAQ / Preguntas

**What happens if an extension is not found?** An error record with its HTTP code is stored and it is not charged.

**How is a new version detected?** In watch mode the stored version is compared with the current one. If it changed, the record comes out with `cambio: cambiada` and `camposCambiados: ["version"]`.

**Can I try it without network access or a token?** Yes. From the repository root run `npm run build -w actors/chrome-web-store-extensions && node actors/chrome-web-store-extensions/scripts/en-seco.mjs`. It uses a local fixture and checks duplicates, empty fields, the second watch pass and change detection.

**Does it scrape the whole Store?** No. It only reads public pages for the ids, URLs, searches or categories you ask for, with retries.

#### Integraciones (Make, Zapier, Google Sheets)

```json
{"ids":["cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"],"urls":[],"busquedas":[],"categorias":[],"usuariosMin":0,"maxResultados":20,"incluirResenas":false,"maxResenas":10,"modoVigilancia":false}
```

### Ejemplos de uso / Usage examples

```
#### Call it from your code (Apify API)
```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/Flets_sv~chrome-web-store-extensions/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"ids": ["ddkjiahejlhfcafbddmgiahcphecmpfh", "cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"]}'
```
```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient

client = ApifyClient("YOUR_API_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("Flets_sv/chrome-web-store-extensions").call(run_input={"ids": ["ddkjiahejlhfcafbddmgiahcphecmpfh", "cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"]})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```
No code? Use the Apify modules for **Make** and **Zapier** (run the Actor, then fetch dataset items), or the **Google Sheets** integration in the Actor's Integrations tab to append each run to a sheet.
