## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Shopping Scraper

Scrape **Google Shopping** results for any product search: titles, current price, original ("was") price, discount %, merchant, star rating, review count, delivery and returns info, local stock, and Google product IDs. You only pay for products you get.

- ⚡ **Fast and cheap**: plain HTTP through Apify's Google SERP proxy. No browser, so a run of 100 products takes seconds.
- 💲 **$3 per 1,000 products**. Empty or failed searches are free.
- 🌍 **Any country and language**: `us`, `ca`, `gb`, `de`, `au`, `in` and more, with local merchants and currency.
- 🎯 **Filters**: min/max price and "only discounted" are applied before saving, so you aren't charged for products you filter out.

### What you can use it for

- Price monitoring and competitor price tracking
- Finding which merchants sell a product and at what price
- Spotting discounts and sales ("was" price + % off)
- Market research: ratings and review counts across a category
- Feeding product data into Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n or your own app via the Apify API

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | List of product searches, e.g. `wireless earbuds`, `standing desk` |
| `country` | Google country code (`gl`), default `us` |
| `language` | Language code (`hl`), default `en` |
| `maxProductsPerQuery` | 1-200, default 40. Google shows ~40-60 products per page; above that the actor reads more pages |
| `minPrice` / `maxPrice` | Optional price filters |
| `onlyDiscounted` | Keep only products with a "was" price |

```json
{
  "queries": ["wireless earbuds", "air fryer"],
  "country": "us",
  "maxProductsPerQuery": 40,
  "onlyDiscounted": false
}
```

### Output

One row per product:

```json
{
  "query": "wireless earbuds",
  "position": 3,
  "title": "Skullcandy Push Play Active True Wireless Earbuds",
  "price": 52.99,
  "priceText": "$52.99",
  "currencySymbol": "$",
  "originalPrice": 65,
  "discountPercent": 18,
  "merchant": "Best Buy",
  "moreSellers": true,
  "rating": 4.0,
  "reviewsCount": 547,
  "delivery": "Free delivery by Tue",
  "returns": "15-day returns",
  "nearby": null,
  "productId": "12454910280675483452",
  "productUrl": "https://www.google.com/search?udm=28&q=...",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "status": "ok",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-04T01:16:03+00:00"
}
```

Searches with no results produce one free row with `"status": "no_results"`; searches that keep failing after retries produce `"status": "failed"` with the error (also free).

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.003 per product** saved to the dataset. Platform usage is included. There are no charges for empty searches, failed searches, or products removed by your filters.

### Notes and limits

- Results reflect what Google Shopping shows for that country at run time. Prices and merchants change often.
- `moreSellers: true` means Google lists other merchants for the same product; `merchant` is the one Google shows first.
- Only public product listing data is collected. No personal data.
