## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Luma Events Scraper (lu.ma)

Get public **Luma (lu.ma / luma.com) events** as clean data: name, start and end time, timezone, city and coordinates, venue and full address when the host made them public, price, every ticket type, sold-out status, spots left, how many people are going, the full description, categories and the hosts' public profiles. **$2 per 1,000 events.** No login, no cookies, no browser.

Luma is where tech, AI, startup, crypto and creator communities host their meetups, launch parties, hackathons and dinners. Its events are a live map of who is building what, and where.

### What you can collect

- **By city:** Luma's curated event lists for about 90 cities (nyc, sf, london, miami, berlin, singapore, toronto, bengaluru, tokyo and more), or sweep them all at once
- **By calendar:** every upcoming event from a community or company calendar, e.g. luma.com/genai-sf
- **Specific events:** paste Luma event URLs

### What you can use it for

- **Event discovery and newsletters:** build a weekly "what's on" list for your city or niche
- **Sales and partnerships:** find active communities, organizers and sponsors in AI, startups, crypto and more
- **Market research:** track which topics are drawing crowds, how fast events sell out, and pricing
- **Community and DevRel:** monitor competitor and partner calendars

### What you get for each event

### How to use it

1. Pick **where to get events**: cities, calendars, or event URLs.
2. Add city slugs (e.g. nyc, sf, london) or turn on **All Luma cities**.
3. Turn on **full details** if you want descriptions, categories and every ticket type.
4. Optional filters: keyword (whole-word match, e.g. AI, founders, web3), free or paid, in person or online, and a date range.
5. Set **Max events**, run, and download as JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API. Schedule it daily to catch new events as they're posted.

### Pricing

**$2 per 1,000 events** saved, pay per result. You are never charged for events filtered out by your settings, failed pages, or anything beyond your Max events.

### Privacy

This Actor collects only what Luma shows publicly on event pages. It never collects guest lists or attendee information, and it respects hosts' choices: when a venue address is shown only to registered guests, the address fields stay empty (you still get the city and approximate area). Host data is limited to what hosts display on their public Luma profile.

### Is it legal?

It reads only public Luma pages that anyone can open without an account, following Luma's robots.txt. Use the data in line with privacy laws such as GDPR, especially if you contact hosts. This Actor is not affiliated with Luma.

### Integrations and API

Run it from the Apify API, schedule it, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack and AI agents through the Apify MCP server.
